Had to visit store for a new car battery, and was served by Will. What an absolutely charming young man. He was polite and courteous, and talked me through what we should do in the future to avoid a drained battery. I would be very proud if he was my son.

Top service today from lads in store gave me advise on trolley jacks and axle stands and even helped me carry them to the counter and to my car. I believe I heard one of their names was Tony? Either way both lads at the door today at around 11:30 brilliant service!!

The Altrincham store is a really good one. Knowedgeable staff is a necessity when the customer knows what they want but doesn't know which particular one of the many choices they have. A member of staff sorted me out very quickly and l was so grateful, plus l learned something too. Would definitely recommend this store, although the parking area at this small shopping complex can be busy.

I was booked in by someone overseas to come in on Saturday morning after a series of questions. Two seconds after walking, I was met with Meg. Her customer service skills lacked as had no warmth to her. She told me she could not touch the electric bike because it had a throttle ? If the actual store had done the qualification it would avoid transporting the heavy bike into store.

Hi Toni, I have just emailed a detailed account of the experience. My contact details are contained within that. I look forward to hearing back from you. I paid Β£139 for a Gold Bicycle Service and parts. What you come away with includes...in fact, initially you come away without your bike; It was not ready as a part was unavailable. Wasted journey one. I made two more trips and eventually pushed my bike (breaks now squeaking, brand new gears that were not aligned and memories of possibly the worst service I can remember experiencing) home as it was unrideable. I had lost any trust in Halfords whose staff (with one exception) came across as surly, disengaged, disinterested and seemingly disinterested in the customer or the product. I am awaiting a response from Halfords. In the meantime, I am having the work done by a lovely, responsive, knowledgable, interested, independent called Stamford Cycles in Altrincham. It's extraordinary, as you enter the shop, he says hello and smiles. Maybe that's only included at Halfords when you upgrade to Platinum Service.

Nobody at the till for 5 mins. Two employees then showed up , one answered the phone and the other took a further 5 mins to explain to another customer why a baby seat didnβt fit. I was only there for a bucket and in total waited 15 mins to pay. The guy behind the till didnβt even speak to me but spoke to another employee β¦ no please , thank you or anything. Wonβt be going there again.

Categorically wasted time. Drove to this store to ask if they could fit a dash cam. The store was overly busy with no staff to really advise. Staff dismissed the enquiry with βit will probably be fineβ, giving no interest to check. Returned next day for a fitting appointment - left the car for a while to get a call informing they cannot complete the installation. No fault of the fitter staff who were apologetic however Halfords policies are simply nonsense. What business allows you to purchase a product before checking compatibility. This aside, what business 1. Cancels fitting appointments on the day without notice til you arriveβ¦ 2. Poorly advises customers and lets them make wasted journeys (x3). Halfords are a no go in future. Shambles.

I ordered some paint online. I then received a phone call from the local store to say that it was out of stock, although it was showing in stock on their system, but they get it in a few days later which was fine with me. I then get an email from Halford's saying "We've cancelled your order" followed by " Dear Alan, We're sorry to see that you've cancelled your order" and that I'd get an email from the "Refund Team" for the refund - which never came. As no refund appeared after a week I went into the store to find that the order was there and hadn't been cancelled. Apparently if there is a stock issue the order is automatically cancelled. I have no problem with the staff at our local branch. They're great - but Halfords needs to get it's IT sorted as it's sometimes baffling for customers!!

New car was showing low battery power so I went to Halfords Altrincham to buy a jump starter. The staff member explained how it worked and offered to check the battery. He did so promptly. The battery was perfect and he explained how and why the warning came on - the dealer had supplied a new battery as he had told me but had not coded in the new battery. This was excellent service on a nasty, wet dark night. For ease of identification the staff member was very tall with a reddish beard. This was the usual level of service from Halfords - I had my XK8 serviced there for years and will now have my new F type serviced there - all because of consistently excellent service
