Initially we came for a family dinner with a well intended feeling. We booked a table well in advance and we were told that they did not have a liquor licence and suggested us to bring our own alcoholic drink. However, they never mentioned about a corkage charge of £10 per bottle of wine. It came to our surprise until the very end that the bill came. It’s not about the corkage charge. It’s about how they failed to inform customers about the corkage charge. If we knew there would be corkage fee, we might have second thought to come in here. Honestly, the food and service were really good there, but because of their poor management, I would not come back again. I am afraid you have just lost a loyal customer. Thank you.

Nice dim sum place. Very Cantonese. During weekend they don’t allow reservation, so walk in only. There is already a long queue before 11am on Saturday morning. And they need to the whole group to be present to let you in. The place is huge. Food is fast served and tasty.

This is a dim sum style restaurant that is Michelin rated. The decorations and vibe of the place is contemporary with a Chinese flare. The dim sum is made to order so they are hot, tasty, and pretty good. Overall, we had a nice experience here.

Poor service - to the point of us not paying the service charge. Before today I’ve only not paid service charge once in London. My sister actually came before and had a great experience which is why we’ve now came here on a Saturday night. I suspect that each table has a designated staff and the one who took our order was incredibly rude, fast and annoyed tone throughout the ordering process and she even got our order wrong. Bless the other staff who covered her the rest of the time and honestly I’m unsure if I’ll return as I have yet to try the dim sum menu but one thing for sure is that if she is responsible for our table again I will either ask to be moved to another table or I’ll just leave altogether.

Many of you may have come here for dim sum, and that hasn’t changed… still good and worth the wait (although ideally get there for opening on a Saturday and Sunday otherwise that wait can be over an hour!). For many though, the dinner (family style with dishes to be shared in the centre) is also as good and their menu is worth exploring. I come here often with friends (the more people you have, the more dishes you can try) and we’ve always had a fabulous dinner. They don’t currently have an alcohol license so bring your own beers… as corkage is £10. They can easily handle tables for 12 or so… so the more the merrier.

Been here countless times. Hits the spot every time. Get there before 5pm for their dim sum. Their dim sum is ridiculously good. There always a queue on the weekends. If you get there before 12:30 you have a better chance of not waiting 20/30 minutes. However it is well worth the wait even if you have to wait. The service is decent they try their best as they are so very busy. We always get the dim sum with the crispy noodles in black bean sauce with beef.

Yes they are expensive but the quality of the dim sum has always been to a high standard, and I'm very happy to find that the quality remains the same post lockdown whereas the quality at many of their competitors has hit rock bottom. We came for dim sum lunch on a Thursday during half term, it wasn't too busy and service was fast and efficient. We enjoyed everything we ordered and wished we had time for more. Really recommend (check out the attached pics) the roast pork puffs and the shanghai pork dumplings - the ones here actually has soup in it, unlike a lot of other restaurants, so watch out when you bite into it.

The best Hong Kong style dim sum in London that I tried. Royal China was very clean and tidy looking when I visited. The dim sum dishes were delicious and reasonably priced. The dishes were hot when I got them as if they were just cooked. I highly recommend the pawn and chive dumplings. I loved how the chives were cut into small pieces but still big enough to have a texture when I tasted them. The wonton noodle soup was great too with thin egg noodle and a few pieces of green vegetable. They are located within five walking distance to Queen Mary’s Rose Garden and Hyde Park. The staff there were very friendly. It’s nice to dine there.

The place in London for dim sum. A lovely place to spend for Sunday lunch. Presentation of the food was lovely. Service was quick. Food was tasty. The smoking banana dessert was dramatic. Thoroughly enjoyed the experience and recommend however it is pricey when compared to other dim sum restaurants. The food lives up to the cost though…

Superb food, superb value for money. The Royal China chain undoubtedly serves superb Chinese food, and we've never been disappointed each time we visit. However, what IMO stands out the most is its value-for-money *relative* to what you can get at typical London Chinatown restaurants. Royal China costs about 10-20% more than standard London Chinatown fare, but it offers quality and ambience that far exceeds the price premium paid.
