   I have been using oriental kitchen in firs lane for some time now And I can say that the service by the lady at the front counter is always top notch very friendly and smiling great customer service. Food is good with good value for money and decent portions too.

   The place is nice and clean and looks ok. The lady who took my order was sooooo friendly. She had a great smile that lightened my mood coz things have been tough these last couple of years. The food was well prepared, cooked and looked delicious. They also take card payments, which I didn't know because all the Chinese takeaways I go to take cash only. I liked the food but me and the family didn't really enjoy it because everything, from the spring rolls and meat, right through to the veg, it all had this subtle saccharine taste. The only other place I've experienced this is when I used to eat food from Oriental Chef on Southgate High Road, and the food I got from here was distinctly sweet. Yeah, would've given a 5 if it wasn't for the faint sweetness that pervades everything.

   We came here on Valentine's Day's evening. It was our first time and did so after reading the good reviews. The lady at the front was superb, she patiently helped us with the menu and answered all of our questions even though she was busy receiving phone calls and customers coming in. The overall experience was excellent and definitely this is our Chinese restaurant to go from now on. We will repeat very soon for my daughter's birthday. Unfortunately, there were two dishes that we didn't like but this is a subjective opinion, we can't complain about the cooking, it is a personal taste. Black bean sauce has both a strong smell and taste that we didn't like but we liked beef and vegetables' textures. Also, the chicken with mushrooms brought us back images of hospital meals with plain boil chicken; the mushrooms, however, were great. We will try other dishes next time. Nonetheless, let me say how good were both the big (filled with small pieces of meat and other ingredients that I don't know but crunchy and delicious) and mini spring rolls (more pastry than filling with a tiny spicy trace), sweet and sour chicken (battered), chicken in sweet lemon sauce, special fried rice and special fried soft noodles (we would rather prefer them with more dressing but were not dried. Some more soya sauce could do the trick). Very quick cooking times, this must be due to a great mise en place. Well done chef! There are fortune cookies available for 20p each which come individually sealed and wrapped. Good prices, very good value for money. £10 minimum for card payments. There is a cash machine nearby that charges £1.90 for withdrawals. Parking is free on the road except from 11am to midday. They don't deliver to Edmonton Green but we are a quick short car ride away. In addition, the local had a cozy, clean, tidy and warm ambient that we liked while waiting for the order to be cooked. This is not like a chicken & chips shop full of grease and disturbing young people around. It might be because it was during the half term, can't really tell. Just in case, I earn no commission with my review and I am very critical. I am leaving my honest first experience. Updates will follow if needed.
