   I was served at the till by a very foul tempered older lady. Her countenance was quite frightening and I kept wondering what I had done wrong. She kept giving me foul replies to normal conversation. Zero customer service. However I had great customer service from another gentleman and lady tending to other things in the store.

   Scott and all of the team at Blacks Meadowhall were super helpful and welcoming this morning, we got very good service and they have a good selection and options for outdoor walking/ trekking clothing, shoes and accessories. Highly recommended.

   I started my retail career with this company half a lifetime ago. I spend a lot of money with this company but it seems since JD Sports took over customer service is not a priority any more so I tend to shop online. After going into the store in meadowhall the other night I'll not be going back and would not recommend Black's to anyone. The lad who came over to me while I was looking at footwear asked if he could recommend something for me. I worked for Black for over 5 years and probably know more about footwear than he did but I thought I'd see what he had. He asked me what sort of money I was willing to spend. I told him not much. Now I know the value of good shoes and my not much wasn't going to be a £30, I had around £100 to play with but this awful member of staff recommended I leave the shop as I could not afford the prices. He also said this to me in front of other customers which was even more insulting. Apparently this person has worked there under 5 managers. Obviously not good enough to actually become the manager. In future I'll be shopping straight from the supplier, in fact I'd rather by from Amazon than give Black's another penny. Such a shame as it used to be a great company with excellent values.

   Customer service is shocking , bought some berghaus boots that split , took them back and got told that there was nothing blacks could do because I didn't have the receipt , drove back to doncaster and contacted berghaus , they told me to return the boots to blacks who were responsible for resolving the issue , drove from doncaster yet again , with bank statement as proof of purchase , yet again blacks management refused to assist in any way and flatly refused to send the boots back or offer a refund or compensation. Definitely won't be showing with blacks ever again.

   Will not shop hear again meadowhall branch. Had two pairs of gloves from hear both fell apart within two months. Im allergic to water so needed the gloves. Staff didn't seem to give a damn. Wanted a different pair but didn't have my size. All they wanted was for me to spend more. Don't see why I should. When its there products that was rubbish.

   Placed an online order - my order came part shipped today and I get a notification from bank refund issued. I then try and contact customer service and I get item might be out of stock or damaged. No email saying out of stock or any message. Check online and item is still in stock, Very poor customer service indeed I did find same item cheaper elsewhere and hopefully it arrives before I need it. Won’t be using again poor customer service. Still no explanation to the refund after 5 days or a sorry avoid

   Asked about a leatherman on display. Swiftly told by a member of staff that if it’s not on the shelf, that’s the last display one and not for sale. Staff member then turned around and walked away without another word before I could ask about a more expensive model. I’ll avoid in the future
