    The staff here are extremely unsupportive. Every time you ask for help, they just throw a catalogue in front of you and tell you to figure it out yourself. In comparison, Screwfix also has a digital catalogue, but their staff still help you find what you need and remain professional. The staff at this place seem unhappy, unmotivated, and unwilling to go the extra mile. They often have no information about deliveries. I purchased 7 radiators for £547 after being told they would all be delivered the next day (Saturday). Instead, I received only 4. When I went to the store to ask what happened, one employee had no idea where to look, and another told me they only knew that my order hadn’t been picked up yet—yet somehow part of it was delivered. He then told me the remaining radiators would arrive on Monday. On Monday, only one more radiator arrived. By the evening, I gave up and bought all seven from another local shop. I returned the 5 delivered radiators to this store, and that turned into another headache. They said they couldn’t accept the return unless I also brought back the free items that came with the purchase. I said they could just deduct the cost of the free items. The employee didn’t know how to do that. I suggested they create a new receipt for those items and charge me normally—he didn’t want to do that either. After insisting, he finally agreed, but made me pay separately because he couldn’t apply my refund money. Then, when I asked for my final refund, he said he couldn’t process it unless I brought back the undelivered items—which makes absolutely no sense. He told me I had to wait for them to be delivered, then bring them back to get my refund. What kind of system is that? There is zero customer support here. After this experience, I completely understand why people avoid this store and prefer others. Especially avoid delivery and ask refund policy before you place the order.

    Both the gentleman and lady working today 12/10 need a little course on customer service etiquette. No manners whatsoever. Gave me the wrong order, went back in and couldn’t even get a simple smile let alone an apology.

    I contacted Toolstation via their live chat on Monday, typed in my query, and waited - then waited some more. After two hours with no response, I phoned and was directed to their website by an automated system. I submitted the same enquiry via their email form, but the reply came more than 48 hours later simply telling me to “check the website,” even though I had clearly done so already. By the time their response arrived, I had already placed an order with another supplier who actually cared. Quite frankly, it was frustratingly unhelpful service that cost them my business - both immediate and ongoing

    Tool station Bolton is a great branch with friendly staff who are also very helpful. They carry a good range of stock and get stock replenishment quickly if your item is not in stock. The car park is very small and sometimes can be a bit of a struggle to find a space or maneuver easily. Access to the site is easy and is just of a main road (Manchester road).

    Never had an issue here before, but this morning my partner had to park there for around 10 minutes around 8:30 AM because there was no space in the Clifton's parking area and when she got back a worker called Deb was circling around the car and just said "Custstomers only" in a rude manner. I would understand asking (not in this Karen tone) customers not to park there even for a short time, but the car park was completely empty so she was obviously not creating any issue by parking there for 10 minutes.

    I use this branch frequently and have a trade account. The staff go above and beyond to assist, I had an issue and the manager Steve stepped in and resolved quickly even phoning customer support as my order had been cancelled with no notification as an item had become out of stock. All was resolved quickly. Highly recommend
