   As good as Dunelm is for soft furnishings and haberdashery, I do find it frustrating that more of the furniture it sells isn't in store, especially sofas, chairs, etc. items you absolutely want to sit on to ensure they're comfortable. It's done a good job of moving it's product range towards a younger audience, which is still millennials in their late 30s and 40s, which isn't exactly young, admittedly, but still, more furniture that I can actually road test please, if I'm forking out upwards of £1000 on a sofa, I expect to be able to sit on it beforehand.

   Imagine if you fell from an aircraft. The chances of surviving are much increased if you fell upon a Dunelm due to the sheer amount of cushions and soft furnishings stocked. Of course the build quality of the roof may be factor but choice may not be an option you are considering as you reach terminal velocity.

   Rude staff. We arrived 30 mins before closing time to be told by one of the women “were closing soon” I politely said okay no problem, I then heard her moaning about us to a colleague while giving a judging look. I also very clearly heard a young member of staff complaining about management after he and the manager had an open and loud disagreement on the shop floor. I’ve been made to feel uncomfortable by some of the rude staff that work there and would rather travel to a Dunelm further away to avoid confrontation.

   Item in the box was not the item purchased, but all the staff and manager said was it was not their problem as they had no control of the contents! They had no replacement in stock so would refund. After multiple failed attempts using the payment method the manager said I could not have a refund and contact my bank? Luckily I had a physical card and asked to refund using that which was successful. There was no apology from the manager for the issue and having to make another trip to the store wasting both time and money. Very poor customer service on this occasion, even from the manager.
