This store is amazing and an independent one too. It's like a House of Frazer and a John Lewis but less expensive. Has lots of labels, lots of choices and great quality products. Love the cafe, it's been Family run for years and serves the best Italian pastries. Great choices of wholesome food and good quality drinks. Every time we visit Sheffield we go out of our way to visit as its the best store and cafe for miles.

I purchased two sofas from here which were perfect (and I hasten to add very well made, quality) so I went back for number three. I didn't unpack it straight away due to decorating...But when I did the cushions were too small and didn't fit...I called the store, sent an email and photos and they were on it immediately....Within a couple of weeks all new cushions that fit perfectly......Love this store everything is quality.....Please don't close..

My first visit to Atkinsons Department Store and I’m very impressed. I spotted a sign for the restaurant as I was heading off for lunch and thought I would give it a try; so pleased Zi did! The restaurant is light, bright and spacious with a good range of food options. It was lovely to see a bold notice on the counter actually listing the gluten free options I thoroughly enjoyed my meal: good portion size and very tasty. I then explored the rest of the store: it’s huge! Lots of wonderful fashion ranges, furniture, haberdashery, electrical goods… the list is endless; a great destination for Christmas shopping or wedding presents. I’ll definitely be back when next In Sheffield.

Atkinson's is one of Sheffield's gems, situated on The Moor. It's an independent department store that's been around for over 150 years. They've got all the usual department store products for your home such as clothes, soft furnishings, kitchenware, electricals, luggage, fragrances, gift items etc. Some may think it's old fashioned and I would agree, but only in the sense that it caters for shoppers in a personal way which seems to have been lost these days. Staff are always polite and available (but not pushy), allowing you to browse at your own pace. The only compromise they've made is to have concessions such as Grape Tree, Nankivells and Caffe Massarella but they fit in well. I visited one of their eateries, Angelica's Tea and Cake, upstairs which has a great selection of savoury and sweet items to have with a range of drinks. They cater for a variety of diets and, when I spoke to them about their gluten free options, they were very friendly and knowledgeable leaving me feeling confident about dining there. Atkinsons’s has outlived former rivals in Sheffield, so it's doing something right!

Atkinson’s is my go-to independent retailer in Sheffield city centre. Park securely, under cover and enter the store easily. I take my elderly mum as she doesn’t have to walk far. We go to Angelica’s for toasties and coffee, a delicious treat. Then we get shopping! Passing through a well presented selection of bedding, curtains and cushions, we arrive at the first floor fashion department, so many British brands. There’s more fashion downstairs too. There is so much to see and enjoy in well lit surroundings. I like Atkinson’s because it is independent & family run, which means they know & understand their customers.

Love shopping in Atkinsons. They have such a wide range of goods. I always find what I need and the prices are very reasonable. On my last visit I bought a beautiful Joe Browns skirt, a cat food dish and some teaspoons!

I like Atkinsons. I always have. I find it surprising that an independent department store such as this has remained in business when the likes of Woolworth & Debenhams have gone to the wall & John Lewis have moved out of Sheffield. It's a great credit to them. It's good that they have a built-on car park too. Very convenient.

Good cafe and of course the great little coffee shop at the front of the store. They are one of the few stores in the centre of sheffield that sell decent selective clothing items. For both young and old and for larger sized ladies too. Plus they have a much needed bra measuring service for the ladies. They sell white goods. And much more. Great place
