Went on a Wednesday evening, very quiet had the whole upstairs dining to ourselves. The staff were polite and drinks and food brought to us quickly. A lovely large menu to choose from and good deals, would definitely go again.
Great pub with fantastic staff. Jo is a particular star, always welcoming with a smile and a cold pint. Lovely atmosphere and the 2 for 1 pizza deal is a bargain.
Great old fashioned type pub. Serving great pints of Guinness. Food did look lovely (didn’t have any as we’d booked elsewhere unfortunately) Bar staff were most helpful. Would recommend anyone to visit this pub.
Lovely pub, nice decor, smashing arm chair. Great lunch deal, £9.25 for fish and chips with a pint. Staff are great, beer is cold and wet.
Popped in for a pint on my way to a lunch reservation elsewhere, as it seemed to be the only pub open before 12pm around that area. Pub looks lovely inside and out, staff were friendly and efficient. Only downside was groups of people already starting to get a little rowdy in there that early, but nothing major that would put me off visiting again.
Popped in to check out the new look. Very impressed. I enjoyed the new upstairs bar, Tv's showing Cheltenham horses all day and a good atmosphere. Was taken care of really well by Anthony. Will return!
Compared to pre refurb, I love the new decor and furnishings. The layout is great and much more spacious. Windows still don’t close in the downstairs ladies, so potentially still the coldest toilets in Brum. Raised with the manager and he has said he would remedy. New items in the menu and the same friendly staff.
Great atmosphere and service every time I come here. Would highly recommend. Ant, Georgie and Dante were especially friendly and quick to serve me whenever I was at the bar.
We recently held our annual presentation here for our organisation. The staff were very friendly and helpful in dealing with our requests. The quality and quantity of the food in the buffet was perfect. We really enjoyed our evening in The Old Royal. Thank you to Paul and the team!
Went today for lunch with a group of work colleagues. We had preordered our food with Paul and it came to us within minutes of us sitting down. The food was lovely and was real value for money.
