So glad i stumbled across this hidden gem in Camden, I wish i wasn’t a tourist just visiting for a couple days so that I could come back again and again

   Besides place to pick up a goth outfit, and the prices are so fair. Never saw a shop so complete. Unfortunately it’s not allowed to take pictures inside, but it’s worth it to check it out.

   I have been several times in the shop as I think is one of the most complete shop for all the goths with different brands and styles. Staff is usually very friendly and kind. But last week a lady kept following me and literally stay close to me watching what I was doing. I wanted to buy some stockings and I was deciding between two, when I looked up and I noticed she was keeping staring at me. When she noticed I noticed she pretended to be looking at something. I left everything because this is not the right way to treat customers. I work in retail too and I know that thieves are a huge problem in London but if you want to spy on a client at least do it in the right way. I felt insulted and shamed. That’s why I’m giving 2 stars and I will continue to do my shopping online somewhere else

   If it wasn’t for the lady at the register and the kind employee who greeted us as we entered and exited this would be a 0 star review. I don’t want to assume it had much to do with my skin color, but I was really uncomfortable and felt very unwelcome by the employee who followed my friend and I around the store. Her demeanor was cold and unwelcoming as well. As soon as I appeared in the store, she did. When my friend and I went to the lower level (where people already were) she followed us down there, and anytime we went to a rack, she would be nearby, pretending to be organizing things and occasionally watching us. When we went upstairs, surprisingly, she went upstairs as well, leaving the other customers down there alone. Even when we moved to look at sweaters and chokers in a farther back part of the store, she was right beside us, suddenly super interested in the same things as us. She didn’t stop following us until we made our way to the register. I understand wanting to watch out for thieves, but please invest in some CCTV or something instead of having your employees follow a black woman around the store. I will not be back.

   Always loved this shop, and now my daughter is into this style of clothing she does too. Always a great shop to visit whilst in Camden. Shop assistants are always so helpful and friendly, and the range of beautiful gothic and steam punk merchandise is stunning. So many great items and good prices too. Truly worth a visit. Thank you for such wonderful attentive service especially in making an anxious daughter more relaxed.
