   Great fireworks display. Food and drink prices were very reasonable and staff were friendly. Good family atmosphere for Bonfire night. Only disappointment was there was no bonfire!

   I booked a the room in 14th September for my baby shower. There was poor communication from the owner from the start when trying to confirm the booking which should have been the first red flag for me. We were told that we would have the room from 12 onwards on the day so that is when I arranged for the catering and decorations to arrive and told guests to arrive at 1. When we got there the room hasn't been cleaned from the night before, tables were dirty and glasses were still out across the room. Me and my parents then had a mad rush to clean the room ourselves before guests arrived. The lady who had booked her birthday the night before turned up to take her balloons down and told me that the room was dirty too when she came to set up her decorations. After the babby shower ended we left the room spotless, all rubbish in bins, glasses put on the bar and had arranged for the balloon arch to be taken away. Despite this I still have not received my deposit back. I have tried to contact the owner on multiple occasions via phone and email regarding the deposit and told that she had been on holiday and behind on admin and promised the deposit would be transferred back to me. I still have not received ny deposit back. I am due to give birth shortly and do not have the energy to chase this any further and felt writing this review of my experience was my last resort. Avoid at all costs if you want a stress free celebration.

   We attended my grandsons 1st birthday party there . The room was a great venue to hold such an event , there was a small soft play area for toddlers and babies with plenty of seating for parents . We brought a play tunnel and tent to add to the equipment and we decorated the venue with balloons and added themed touches around the room . The bar was well stocked and the service was friendly . We provided our own buffet style food for the guests and they brought their own drinks , so we can't comment on the pubs own food. The pub is not far from surrounding towns and a nice drive out . A great venue to hold a private event or to just pop in for a drink or two .

   To the owners - what do you know of the history of The Park Gate Inn? We have ancestors from the 1800's who were the Innkeepers for a time. I would love to be able to connect back. We have a photo also from 1936

   We just celebrated a 50th birthday with a festival themed weekend at the Park Gate Inn and had an absolute blast. We used the lower field as our base and partied with friends and family in the day and camped overnight to avoid taxis home! The owners were amazing - thank you Chris and Dawn for helping us to organise and assisting us with last minute requests. The weather was great, the drinks were cold and there was plenty for the kids to do. Great time had by all - would definitely recommend holding an event here.

   I would highly recommend The Park Gate Inn for a party. We held my Son’s Christening Party and it turned about beyond perfect! The venue was decorated lovely and the staff were super helpful. We will definitely be using The Park Gate Inn again. Thank you so much! xx
