   Fabulous building brought down by poor staff, bad attitudes and all stems from rank management. Beer can be good if people taught how to pour it and food passable dependant upon who is operating the microwave. Give it a swerve if you are not fan of gastric illnesses and 1000yrd stares when you ask for attendance from management team ......

   Typical Spoons pub, set in a building of historic importance to the town. Usual good value meals and drinks. Service a little slower than other Wetherspoons we've used, but not slow compared to other chains

   This Wotherspoon pub is in a good location. The service was good. Only used the bar did use the hotel. Toilets were reasonably easy to access not so many stairs as some places.

   It’s Located along the high street with 2 entrances. Well decorated and beautiful interiors. There’s plenty of seatings and nice booth seats space. It’s a very popular place with the locals!! The staff is efficient and kept the place clean. The breakfast was well prepared and good value deal.

   Nice place with pleasant staff and quick service. Public (paid) parking at rear with easy access to sun terrace and loads of seating available in and out. Only let down 1 ⭐ for the Wetherspoon chip shortage - not the fault of the Golden Cross, just the chain in general.

   Back over from France for a few days. Popped in with my dad on Wednesday for lunch. Had a decent curry and a couple of pints of old peculiar. At £2.27 a pop it was incredibly good value, especially nowadays. Really good pint to boot. The old place never changes which is great. Will be back next I'm over for sure!

   Very good value meals, especially between 2-5pm when food prices reduced. Had fish and chips and it was excellent, generous well cooked portions which were hot and fresh. Unlimited refills on hot drinks.

   The atmosphere is great, the service was speedy, and the staff cheery, the place is fairly clean, Some people where been to loud by us but not offensive, We had breakfast the food was OK, better if it had been warmer but it was eatable so that's the main point. They couldn't do Ham and eggs for breakfast as the till wouldn't let them but finally they found a way to do it, so great customer service. Would recommend if you after a basic meal to come here, prices are good even after the price rise large breakfast under £6
