Bar pub in Bromsgrove

“Went for a birthday meal on Tuesday 25th June. We were seated upstairs. The staff were very friendly, warm and welcoming. The tapas dishes we had were all delicious especially the pork belly each dish were flavoursome had 6 dishes in total between the 2 of us. We also ordered pratas bravas, chorizo, harissa chicken, casa med salad and bread with balsamic and oil. It was very filling so had no room for desert. With the 15% it was well worth it. I was pleasantly surprised how much it was so I recommend going on a Tuesday. This is the place to go for a special occasion.”

“Superb. Food was spot on, mixed grill portions are big, great for sharing if you have sides with it. Very nice venue, staff are friendly, pints are decent, price is reasonable and the footys usually on. What more can you ask for?”

“Went on a christmas work do on Friday 28th. Paid just under £60 pp.. absolute bargain. Nice 3 course meal, drink on table plentiful.and free bar. Branded drinks too ...gordons pink Gin.. waitressing staff and bar staff very good and friendly.. had brilliant night. DJ wasnt the best he catered more for the younger audience despite being asked for 70s and motown”

“Very nice country pub which has been refurbished and is now under new management. The new team are very friendly and welcoming. The landlord can’t do enough for his customers, everything you ask for is ‘No Problem’. Great customer service. There's a nice log fire and a great selection of real ales at reasonable prices. The only down side is they only serve cold food, but it’s a good selection that goes particularly well with the traditional ales that are on sale. They take party bookings and will put on a buffet to suit the number of guests. I went with my family on Sunday afternoon and everybody enjoyed themselves. The food, drinks, service and atmosphere was great.”

“Visited for the first time yesterday for a late lunch. My friend and I chose the Lunchtime Menu, Although the selection is not huge, the dishes are quite interesting and different. Both our starters and our main courses were absolutely delicious. Service was friendly and attentive - and the bill not too bad at all. We'll definitely be returning!”

“Terrific carvery and a good range of meals on the menu to suit everyone. We have eaten here for both lunchtimes and evening meals and the carvery is superb. Very friendly and helpful staff. There is a large car park on site, but evenings can get busy. They do accept reservations, and you will be safer to secure your reservation to guarantee a table.”

“We attended my grandsons 1st birthday party there . The room was a great venue to hold such an event , there was a small soft play area for toddlers and babies with plenty of seating for parents . We brought a play tunnel and tent to add to the equipment and we decorated the venue with balloons and added themed touches around the room . The bar was well stocked and the service was friendly . We provided our own buffet style food for the guests and they brought their own drinks , so we can't comment on the pubs own food. The pub is not far from surrounding towns and a nice drive out . A great venue to hold a private event or to just pop in for a drink or two .”

“A very warm welcome from staff. Very busy but great atmosphere. Served by Lauren, who was courteous, friendly and efficient, with great customer skills. Nothing was too much trouble. She's a credit to the establishment. Food was served timely, presented well and was delicious, with attention to detail. It was a family birthday celebration, enhanced by a candle on the birthday girl's dessert. All in all, a great experience.”

Also got 4 pieces of focaccia, that whipped pork fat butter is insane!! 3 starters, 3 roasts, side of cauliflower cheese, half a pint of beer, pint of Coke Zero, and a gin and tonic with tap water was £125.”

“Stopped by Ye Olde Black Cross in Bromsgrove and had a genuinely lovely experience. A big shout-out to Blayk, who was behind the bar—his enthusiasm, friendliness, and great energy really stood out. He made everyone feel welcome and engaged brilliantly with both myself and other customers. The pub itself has a warm and friendly atmosphere, decent food, and a fantastic historic touch—a glass-covered well dating back to 1640, which is a really cool feature you don’t see every day. Well worth a visit if you’re in the area—especially if Blayk’s working!”
