Been in today for a Christmas meal with the family.absolutley lovely food and fantastic service unfortunately my partner wasn't able to make it due to illness but nicky the owner put my partners meal up to take home. Loz and Nicky have both gone above and beyond for us and it was fantastic thank you both.
Lovely little boozer right on the canal. Faye served our food, she was so friendly and helpful, couldn't have asked for better service. Food was lovely and created a beautiful dance of the senses in my palette.
Had our end of season football presentation here and the food, beer was bang on and were very accommodating for us, even let us put our own bouncy castle up. Faye was fantastic behind the bar when we all turned up and the bar got busy.
What an amazing little gem of a pub. Situated right on the canal, they have a nice big garden and when we visited they had their bouncy castle out in the main garden. The pub is run by really friendly staff. The landlady's husband Paddy is so welcoming and friendly. We stayed overnight in our motorhome in the lower car park. They also have amazing cobs (rolls), I recommend the chicken tikka one.
Came here yesterday after a lovely day walking our dogs. We only popped in for 1 drink but it was such a lovely atmosphere that we stayed for a couple more and ordered food too! Staff and customers really friendly and chatty. My daughters were especially fans of the pub dog who came out to the beer garden to meet my 2 dogs! Food was great. We had a veggie pizza and chips and a kids burger and chips. Good value and quick service. This pub is in a great spot on the canal and especially nice to be able to sit outside in the sunshine. Thank you for a lovely afternoon and we will definitely be returning!

My 1st visit lastnight we only had burgers the fries were lovely and burgers ok I wasnt too stuck on the buns though they were like frozen and defrosted the bun was hard on the the bottom, having said that it was edible and not too expensive, the locals were all welcoming and a positive visit around. I met a friend in there that told me it has just changed hands so they are off to a good start

Let me start with the positives... Dog friendly Decent choice of drinks Beer Garden Now the negatives... Portion size was poor. On the accompanying sides. Sides were cold. At least 2 dishes had hairs on the plates. The staff denied anyone working there had hair like that, but the manager did. Refunds were issued for those dishes. We asked for the food to come out together as much as is possible. But it came out staggered and one meal was extremely late. The potato waffles on my daughters meal looked like they had been soaked in oil and left. No steak knives given with steak meals. I ended up giving my few chips on my plate to my daughter as she wouldn't eat her waffles. She finished her chicken strips and asked if she pull have more that's how small the portions are. Bare in mind she is only 4 and doesn't have a large appetite at the best of times. Now I hate leaving bad reviews. But I do believe in honesty. As a family we had been to this pub a few months back and we could not praise it enough. Now there are new owners it seems to have taken a tumble. I have given 2 stars because the drinks were the only decent part of the meal. We shall not be returning. Apologies once again.
