    I had a terrible experience with Hackett. I needed suit trousers in a size 32, but they told me I could only get them if I paired them with a size 40 jacket. They had the trousers in stock, but instead of offering a practical solution, they refused to separate the sizes. It’s absurd that they’d rather have me return the entire suit than simply exchange the trousers for one that fits. For a brand that markets itself as ‘premium’ and claims on their website to ensure everything is perfect, this is complete nonsense. They even boast about tailoring services and adjustments, but clearly, that’s not the reality. When I asked about getting something custom-fitted, they said prices start at £1,300! This experience was beyond frustrating—Hackett has lost me as a customer forever. What an absolute joke.

    This is my ‘go-to’ store for smart / smart casual clothes. The service is always brilliant! I’m always greeted, advised on styles and colours, with no pressure to buy. (Unlike Boss next door, who have never even acknowledged my existence on recent visits.) Clothes quality is good, styles are good, and their ‘sale’ prices are great value. Old fashioned service, like it should be. Highly recommended.

    Poor customer service. Tried to exchange some unworn items today for different colours and it took two men over 10 minutes on the computer to complete the transaction. Then apparently they do not understand the concept of an exchange. An exchange is a transaction whereby you secure the original price you paid for the items but trade in the equivalent item for a different size or colour, etc. Instead, they were trying to charge me the current price, which was higher, for the same items. This would have only made sense if I was buying today, not exchanging. Too bad too, for the £18 difference, they lost a potential long term customer. I won’t be shopping here anymore.
