I visited Caffè Nero on Sheffield High Street today with my three children (all under 10). As walking towards the queue to buy our drinks, my child, who has a condition, urgently needed the toilet.I took all my children with me, as I wasn’t going to leave a 7- and 4-year-old alone in a busy shop. As we walked towards the toilet, the assistant, Cla??1 (i have taken out the name), shouted across the shop, saying the toilets were “for paying customers only.” The way she shouted this out loud, in front of a cafe full of people, was extremely embarrassing and completely unnecessary. I tried to explain that I was going to buy drinks, but she continued speaking confrontationally, shrugged her shoulders, and then loudly shouted out the door code. This behaviour was incredibly rude and left my child visibly upset, he even apologised to me for needing the toilet, and continued apologising once we got home. No child should be made to feel guilty for a basic human need. When I went to purchase my drinks, I told her she could have handled the situation more respectfully instead of assuming I was there just to use the toilet. Her response and body language were defensive and unprofessional. I will not be returning after this experience, and I will be advising others to avoid this branch as well. No customer, especially a child deserves to be treated this way.

THE MILK ACCIDENT! We have all been there, you’re having a good day at work, doing things the way you usually do, everything for the time being seems to be running smoothly then, BOOOOM !!! Suddenly the unexpected happens and you’re forced to react, adrenaline flowing, heart pounding, a bead of sweat drips from your head. Some people are great in these scenarios others are a blubbering mess ! This is the same situation the lady at cafe Nero found herself in when she was carrying milk from the store room through the main cafe. One of the bottles of milk had somehow detached from the rest and broke when it crashed into the ground, not her fault at all! She didn’t hesitate for a second, quickly springing into action making sure first of all the customers are alright and then grabbing the bucket, mop and blue roll, the place was spotless in less than 30 seconds. Her response was that of an emergency services worker! Hero’s do live among us . In addition to her steadfast action and courage when in a pickle, she was kind and accommodating to everyone and exemplified great customer service. Well done Saturday morning lady, with dark hair and ear bar. I hope your managers reward you accordingly. These situations happen, it’s how you respond to it that makes a difference ! 5 STARS *****

Staple option for those who look for a vibrant, reliable, coffee shop. I ve been coming here for years, very happy with the service. It often get quite busy, but almost always there will be seating available. On weekends it get quite crowdy loud with big groups of people, but it also attracts a students/remote workers.

I’m a regular customer that went in for a coffee today and got served by this lovely lady. Whilst she was making the coffee, there was another lady with ginger hair and a ponytail who was behind the bar so I took my chance to ask about a muffin and she rudely shouted “ IM NOT SERVING YOU, MY COLLEAGUE IS” the lady who served me saw how she shouted at me and asked politely what I wanted, obviously I was quite disappointed at the Ginger’s customer service so I just left it. Don’t think I want to be a regular customer anymore.

The cafe is nice, but when I asked for a decaf cappuccino, I received the cup and started drinking it, but I was surprised that there was a napkin or paper inside the drink.. so I took it to one of the staff and he apologised and suggested giving me a new cup which i didn't want. He did not suggest refunding.. but it did not happen like this before, as this was probably my third visit that I got the problem

I've left writing this review for a while because the mocha I had wasn't the best - just ok. It wasn't as sweet as I'm used to - that may be a good thing! But the staff were friendly and helpful, the interior was nicely decorated and clean. It was a Sunday morning around 9am so quite quiet.

Founded in 1997 with 5 shops in London, Caffè Nero has over 1,000 outlets in the UK. We always enjoy our coffee here. Good to hear that Caffè Nero was one of the first to commit to paper straws in 2018. On our visit on 01-Dec around 4pm, our refreshments were excellent and the Caffè Team went the extra mile, checking the gluten index on purchases and also, enabling a loyalty card. Thank you guys. There was a minor issue with the restroom that was acceptable, but not excellent - it is difficult at the end the working day to maintain 100% cleanliness. If all customers left it as found, the Caffè Team's job would be easier!
