   ⭐ One star – appalling attitude and no discretion I am extremely disappointed with my experience at this Costa in Chesterfield town centre. I visited with my 90-year-old mother today 27/12/25. Due to how busy it was, I was seating her, before I queued to order drinks. An older gentleman sitting at a table for four confirmed that two seats were free and that we were welcome to sit while he waited for his wife to return with their drinks. A member of staff approached and abruptly told us we were not allowed to sit and had to “join the queue for a table”. There was no separate table queue – only the drinks queue. When I explained I was simply seating my elderly mother before ordering, I was told she was expected to stand in the queue like everyone else. The staff member’s manner was rude, dismissive, and lacking any discretion. She rolled her eyes, spoke over me, and showed no consideration whatsoever for my mother’s age. Other customers were visibly uncomfortable, and a family seated nearby later commented that they couldn’t believe how we’d been spoken to. As we were leaving, the same staff member continued shouting and appeared to give a completely different version of events to the manager, despite the incident taking place in front of multiple customers. I appreciate cafés can be busy, but this does not excuse poor behaviour, lack of courtesy, or failing to make reasonable allowances for elderly customers. After visiting this Costa for many years, we will not be returning.

   Went in for a drink for me and my sister today using the app to order.As I arrived the barista called for me, I assumed my order was ready however she explained to me they cannot make the drink I ordered, she then explained that I could issue a refund through the app which is not the case as it states here :"To get a refund from Costa for a Click and Collect order made through the app, you need to contact the specific Costa Coffee outlet where you made the purchase. Explain the issue with your product and request a refund or replacement from the staff at the store. There is no option to request a refund directly through the Costa app itself for these types of orders." Soon realizing that was the case she didn't try to issue a refund transaction through the till or offer me and alternative drink and quickly dismissed me and said to do it through the website. This left me with no compensation and I left without receiving a single drink. Very poor customer service.

   Great Strength Coffee, Good head on it, Fast service (Was packed but still only about 2 minute wait), Impressive Size coffee (Large). Cinnamon Bun (Warmed) 5/5 Bakewell Tart 2.5/5 Lots of seating aswell and very comfy.

   Nice spacious cafe in the centre of Chesterfield. Very nice and eye catching building. all staff friendly and serving with smile. Service was efficient and quick. Coffee and choice of cakes are top class. Tuna melt sandwich is always my choice.

   I'm complaining about our store in Chesterfield packers row the woman who served us was very rude towards me and my friend who deaf and I have server disabilities too and was shocked by how rude she was not first time she was rude couldn't get her name she had no badge on not sure if she manager there anyway I have server health issues and I have anxiety didn't need her attitude uncalled for was 20th December 2022 10.30am but great coffee snd clean store but toilets aren't always clean

   Airy cafe. Greeted by staff who were friendly as well as polite. Table cleaned on request. Staff were sweeping floors as needed Water supplied to rinse own reusable cups as well as water to refill own bottles. Indoor and outdoor seating. Much more positive experience unlike the branch on Ravenside retail park. Would return.
