   Loads of character and good beers to choose from. The place looks small on entry and I'd imagine its quite often as busy as it gets but with three floors its very accommodating. Upstairs is a proper old world seating area as rustic as it gets. Pretty sure the floors slope away down the shambles too but it just adds to the charm of the place. Theres a number of regular beers to choose from as well as some guest on hand pull. The place was buzzing with life on our visit and I hope we get back soon for a couple more

   Very cosy and climatic pub in York. Good choice for a rainy evening. I liked their wine and whisky selection, they should work on their cocktail list. It wasn’t very crowded in the evening and I liked that it wasn’t very loud. Nice spot overall.

   Lovely and unusual pub. Quirky even. Great selection of ales usually but not quite to our taste this time so we just had halfs. Even though we have been several times it can easily be missed. Second visit was to sample a lager and mine was a black one.

   On this lovely narrow street in York you can find two epic places located literally opposite each other. Valhalla and Pivni are both worth visiting but we decided to seat outside, on the barrel table and order a nice tap wheat beer from Pivni. Very busy on Saturday evening but we enjoyed every single moment
