I came to this pub was was searching for a good real cider pub in York and this was my favourite one by miles, they had 4 good real ciders on and the landlord said he normally has 6 on. I popped in to this pub twice during my daytrip to York, look forward to returning again soon.

Lovely caske ale pub with plenty of options of different brewery's. Well worth a stop on your travels I highly recommend. Never tried the food so I can't comment on that and they only serve till 4pm

This place was a pleasant surprise. Right next to a cool bridge, I stopped by for a late night pint and was happy to stumble into some live music and a lively pub. Friendly staff, some good cask ales and draft beers, and even a few ciders and an English Perry! I decided to for a pint of the Perry and it was truly delicious. Might have been my first one ever. Anyway, bit of an older crowd but it was a fun stop and when the patio is open it's likely even better.

Great pub. Food is outstanding. Big portions at a good price. They use quality ingredients. The chilli is hot. Really hot. If you can't eat a madras style don't bother. Chips are proper chips. Large ale selection and plenty of keg and real cider.

Stopped at this little pub during a daytrip to York and were very happy. Staff was very friendly and got around to us quickly during rush hour. Pints were good, but food was also quite good. Chips and Cheese were delicious, with the chips clearly home made. Decor was quite nice too! Proximity to train station is also a good bonus. Would recommend a visit.

This place was close to our hotel and they had live music. Some patrons who were there mentioned live music isn't common. Maybe this was a new thing ? We only had drinks and was cool atmosphere

Stunning old pub with plenty of quirks and memorabilia to help pass the time whether waiting for a shower to pass or somewhere to just rest weary legs. They offer a lovely, small but varied food menu, which most importantly is made up of proper home cooked food. The homemade chips are to die for and the Pie with a puff pastry top went down a treat!

Called on a midweek lunchtime we arrived late at 1-45 and we were told of the 15 minute warning, food stopped at 2pm. Orders were taken for the 6 of us and dealt with prompt and served with a smile. Good selection of beers altogether a good lunch. It was quiet when we arrived but would imagine it would have been busy earlier.

Beautiful, old-fashioned pub crammed full of nostalgic memorabilia. The real ale selection is extensive and well-kept, plus there's a good range of ciders. Food portions are generous.
