   Was in on Wednesday stayed most of the day staff were very friendly locals we're all very nice to say it had only opened on Monday it was well run very cheap drinks and well kept taste wise

   Lovely atmosphere great DJ Until you go to the bar there are 2 members of staff that would be more suited to working the markets rather than behind a bar . One is covered in unsightly tattoos even on the neck and has a potty mouth to match the other would kill you if she sat on you . I have never been anywhere that you are made to feel unwelcome at the bar and that your putting them out by asking to be served. Myself and a group of friends called in after visiting the liquorice festival and these two members of staff were chatting ignoring customers so when I politely asked if anyone was going to serve today I was met with a mouthful of delightful words and it's not the first time. Other than that the pub is great good DJ keeping the crowd going .Toilets could of been a bit cleaner obviously it was busy but I'm taking about general standards of cleaning. We left after 1 drink and got a very warm welcome down Ropergate.

   Good traditional bar. Local lads were friendly and had a good laugh with them. Had a few pints of cors although not my first choice it was a good pint. Bar staff professional and welcoming.

   Been going here for 30 years, and wont be going again, Absolutely disgusting how i was treat tonight by the door men. The really tall one needs to learn some manners, what an awful man, he wouldn't let me back in because i fell down the step to the outside this occasionally happens as i sustained an injury when i was involved in a road traffic accident, and my knee gives way, i did explain this to the other door man. My partner was also pushed out of the way by him and he was only trying to explain this as well. We have both spent alot of time in here over the years but it wont be happening again thats for sure

   When asked to facilitate and support a local fundraising event in support of Help For Heroes the massive generosity, hospitality and support from Scott, DJ Dingle, Chris and the bar and door staff at the Bass House and Red Lion was excellent. Thank you for helping to improve the lives of injured veterans and their families.

   Nice pub, good vibes, excellent prices. Only downside was the bell went for last orders, so we got a round in and sat down. Around 7-8mins later at bang on 11pm they were turfing us out. I still had 2/3 of a pint left and my pals had taken maybe two sips. Waste of a round, if we’re giving you money at least allow us to finish. In response to owners comment: Sunday 6th November.

   It's OK, busy on a weekend and certainly full of different characters on a night out. It's great for a bar crawl but not really a bar to stay in for the night.
