We've been before and it was always worthy of 5 stars. Our visit a week ago was disappointing though. They've got quite stingy with the portion sizes now, especially the veg that accompanied the roasts. This was particularly apparent with the cauliflower cheese - one really small bowl to share between 6 adults. Its a shame as it would always be the place I would recommend to friends and family. Not any more.

The food was really nice the staff were very good and organised the only thing we were disappointed with was it was my sons birthday and we brought our own cake with candles on they asked us if we wanted to pay £15 to bring his cake out we have been to lots of resteraunts and never been asked this so that was a disappointment to all of us and made the end of our evening a huge disappointment too

What a lovely place. We came here this evening and were met with super friendly folk, fabulous service and exceptional food. Could not have asked for nicer people or a more pleasant experience. Thank you so much.

Absolutely lovely food except the frozen yorkshire puddings we received. All the other tables in the place had home cooked yorkshire pudding. That was the only letdown for me, im afraid. I assume they didn't have any ready when it came to our table available from the oven. If asked, we could have waited, disappointed

We attended a community BBQ laid on by The White Horse, my local pub. This pub is one of the finest eateries in Yorkshire. Their Sunday lunch is to die for. The young staff are polite, friendly and helpful. Tonight, the pub organised a community BBQ. It was simply brilliant. Children were dancing about with wonderful face paintings. Unlike many country pubs that I have visited, there was a wonderful diversity of patrons, all having a ball! As an Irishman, I am very particular about my Guinness. As someone who has pulled pints of Guinness in Ireland and has been drinking it for 50 years, I can honestly say that a pint of Guinness in The White Horse is as good as many I have experienced in Dublin. This BBQ, tonight, brought people from many backgrounds together with stunning live music. I am so lucky to have such an amazing pub in our village of Church Fenton.

My train was cancelled from Church Fento, so I decide to to make the trek not to far from the station in search for a pint and a bite. On arrival The staff was very welcoming at the White Horse and the Fish Goujons and Tartar sauce was tasty. I must say I wasn't expecting it to be made fresh, but I was wrong.

This is really a food pub, but it has an outside seating area which is quite attractive and sheltered. We had a few drinks outside during the warm weather and then returned for Sunday lunch. An excellent lunch with a good choice of roast meats, all served with Yorkshire puds and fresh vegetables. Well worth the money, we were stuffed. Dogs welcome too, thanks
