Without doubt, this is one of the best places to go in Yorkshire. We had our first Sunday lunch there yesterday and we could not have had a happier and more satisfying experience. The pub/restaurant is warm, welcoming and well appointed, the staff are the embodiment of happy, generous and good humoured folk….the food …utterly impeccable!….the best Sunday lunch for miles….beautifully pink sirloin, bone stock gravy, Goosefat roasties and James Martin quality Yorkshire puds!…..and lastly….perfectly poured pints!….Thank you!…It was brilliant!

Went after a hike. Menu was limited to burgers and loaded fries. But this was exactly what I was craving. The main point is that every staff member I interacted with was lovely. Even offered fresh water and treats for my dog. Thanks l!

We went in for lunch on a Saturday afternoon, hoping to be able to choose from a menu we’ve seen online. Unfortunately the new owners have introduced a menu that features nothing but beige food, it’s like the kids menu at a downmarket bowling alley. This pub should be offering better, such a shame.

A wonderful pub with such a lovely atmosphere. Family friendly and fantastic owners and family. We popped in on Christmas day for a cup of tea for the first time and it felt very welcoming. Really nicely decorated and lots of locals who were also friendly. Can whole heartedly recommend it and we will be back to try the food.

Second time we have visited this pub had a meal each time, I’ve been impressed with the quality of the food it’s just standard fare, I’ve had the burger which was good my wife had the steak which was cooked perfectly. All the staff have been friendly and welcoming Couple of nice log fires adds to a overall friendly atmosphere

Lovely atmosphere, delicious food and perfect service. Guinness cake and lemon posset is to die for! Thank you John, Amy, Dylan and team for looking after us. An absolute gem of a pub, you have to visit when you’re in the area.

Fantastic and generous Sunday roast. Beef and gammon options chosen in our group and both were very well received. Barely managed to squeeze in a dessert but glad we did - the Guinness cake went down a treat. Will definitely be returning in future.

Perhaps it's the time of year but the restaurant was quite quiet when we visited though the bar appeared livelier. We ate in the restaurant and started with the sharing 3 mixed starters. Certainly had that hone made feel. Our mains were amazing certainly not regular pub food amazing roast pork loin with bombay potatoes were a yum. My partner had a smashing piece of lamb on a bed of lentils and peas. So pleased we visited. Lovely staff ,good food and beers . Just need a few more punters through the door.
