My favourite place on Jermyn St. Beautiful ties and always kind staff who like a sartorial chat! Am returning for another this week.

Walked in unplanned this morning. The weather turned cold and rainy, and my linen jacket and light shirt were not keeping out the cooler weather. After seeing lovely flannel jacket in the window, we entered the facility and were shown to the outerwear section downstairs. William is very patient with me while I tried it on many different jackets and other layer pieces. He was very helpful and very patient as I must've tried on six different combinations. At the end of the day he recommended the perfect piece of underwear coupled with a cashmere sweater vest and new dress shirt. I'm so happy the way this looks and feels, I'll be coming back. William was an outstanding Clothier, and I really relied on his assistance. T&A have a new loyal customer in me!

For many years I thought that if ever I get married I should get a Turnbull & Asser shirt thinking it would be a luxurious and special purchase with top class customer service. Well this year is the year and I went into the Jermyn Street shop other day to select a shirt and pull the trigger. Sadly I left empty handed, disappointed and likely never going back. Upon entering and being given a fairly curt hello, there was no directing me where to go until I had to ask where the ready to wear shirts are located. Once I knew to go downstairs I received a polite hello from a member of staff. That was my last verbal interaction with any staff member save a goodbye on leaving. Nobody said they would be with me in a minute or asked if I needed assistance which I really did require given the voluminous selection of shirts, fits and sizes. I appreciate that the two downstairs staff were busy with customers (unlike the upstairs staff) but it does not explain why a member of staff (who I could see in the mirror) came downstairs, looked at me and immediately turned and walk away without a word. After five minutes of aimlessly looking at the walls of shirts I just left. I get the sense that the culture of this brand is firmly stuck in the past where potential customers are silently judged on whether they are the right “type” of customer. A shame as I was otherwise willing to purchase a shirt! I am giving a star for the quality of the shirts based on the few example shirts I was able to interact with (they are very, very nice) and another star for the historic charm of the shop fittings.

Really pretty poor. I've bought on two occasions from them. First item didn't come on time and I had to chase, and the latest one (bowtie in the picture) arrived in a broken box covered in bits of something. Just not worth it for the price.

I have had a deeply upsetting experience with this place. By its nature, a tie is something you don’t wear often. If you have a nice selection, you tend to rotate them, like a musician would not play the same song two nights in a row to the same audience. If you told a joke to a friend at a pub last night, they will look down at you if you repeat it today. Bought a tie from Turnbull & Asset last year. I have only worn it twice and the seam has completely unravelled. Without any washing, dry cleaning or any other stress applied to it. But since I don’t wear the same tie two days in a row, a period of time has passed and I am now outside of the returns window. Naturally, I thought an expensive brand would accommodate its customers needs and cater for situations of this kind, especially when the poor quality of an expensive item is apparent. What do I hear from online support? “Find a tailor as we don’t do alterations” Needless to say, Turnbull and Asser has lost a customer, for the abysmal quality of goods it sells, and an even worse level of service.

I first visited this shop in 1992 on my first trip to London and it is always a pleasure to visit whenever I am back in London. I am very happy with the made to order shirts that can be delivered overseas tax exempt. Staff are always very friendly and helpful. I was very happy to return again in December 2022 commemorating 30 years of happy memories. I look forward to my next visit on my new trip to London.

This is the standard for men’s clothing and service. We had a wonderful experience and found so very special and unique things to purchase. It’s very high quality and we will be back for several other items soon!!!

Not really sure what's going on at Turnbull & Asser these days: I've been a lifelong and very happy customer of theirs, but my last visit at the store was quite a disappointment: The sales lady was obviously not interested and, after handing me a few shirts to try, said that Turnbull & Asser does not make shirts that fit my size any longer. The only way to go was custom made. There are many other shirtmakers in Jermyn Street, I'll just go elsewhere now.

Excellent and friendly service from Mary, who patiently showed me how to tie a bow tie…twice! The store should put her on YouTube, she’s a natural and a huge asset to such a prestigious brand. Thanks again, Mary.
