First time here. Absolutely lovely homemade food. My wife and I went for the steak and ale pie, and honestly one of the best homemade pies I've had. Great price and family friendly atmosphere. Will be returning soon. Thank you!

Called in as we were passing The George and Dragon at Whitley. We were immediately greeted with a smiling face and a hello from the lady behind the bar. Ordering our drinks we were told the choices we had and told as we have plenty of tables take your pick. The choice on the menu was varied and inviting, as it was only just past midday we both decided on a sandwich, My partner chose Tuna melt and I had Chicken Kiev. The food was very well presented and brought out to us by the chef, when my partner said she may not be able to eat it all she was told "thats fine we can always put the rest in a box or tray for you to take home." Sandwiches came in a baguette with chips and a dressed salad. Th whole building was clean and smelt fresh, food was wonderful and the staff first class. Many thanks for a great meal

Love this pub and the friendly staff. We both had fish and chips, wow chips are chunky and superbly cooked. Fish was white and batter was beaut with ample mushy peas and tartar sauce. The owners and staff are definitely starting to make the most of the rear lawned gardens with plenty of seating and lovely new decked area. Bouncy castle, football nets etc for kids. Offers for kids meals too. look forward to our next visit with grandchildren

Great place to visit either at lunchtime or evening. Staff are friendly and helpful. The food is very reasonably priced and good quality too. Car parking is very good and this is a great place to stop at during a trip out. It's a no fuss, no problem pub which is comfortable and friendly. Very relaxing indeed.

First visit for many years. Very welcoming, many different areas to sit, all nicely decorated. Good menu, lots of daily specials. Not home cooked food but very tasty & good quality Will keep in mind for future outings

Visited one Saturday evening & it was a pleasant experience. It wasn't busy & the staff were welcoming. Drinks are very reasonably priced and so is the food. There's a large outdoor seating area and a play area to the rear. It's also an excellent stop-over when travelling in a campervan or small motorhome. There are no external facilities or hook up but the tarmac carpark is almost level & you can park far enough away from the road for traffic not to bother you. Call the pub in advance to ensure a space is available & instruction on where to park. Currently (Dec 2022) there is no charge but support the pub by popping in & buying a couple of drinks & having a bite to eat. A main for 2 & two drinks can be had for less than £20

Nice friendly pub, good food at excellent prices! 2 for £10? No brainer really! There were 10 of us at around 6.30pm on a Weds so it was pretty quiet. Service was good and friendly staff too. Recommended.
