Myself and my friend visited The Burghwallis for a meal. There was only 4 other people in the pub,it was a Tues so expected it to be quiet. The lovely friendly polite young man behind the bar is an absolute credit to this pub. Our food arrived quickly and was lovely. Chicken in garlic mushroom sauce was very nice,my friend had steak cooked to perfection she said. It didn't get any busier throughout the evening which was a shame as it deserves more customers. The young man serving drinks and delivering food to our table was going to University the day after but hopefully he'll be back working there on his return as he really is a credit to the business

Stayed on a stopover in our motorhome, staff very friendly and helpful, Nat and Paige who work behind the bar, beautiful young ladies who were so nice. Food very very good and a good price would come again just because of the friendly atmosphere.

Quiet Saturday lunchtime snack of steak pie, chips and mushy peas. Washed down with a strongbow. Tasty quality meat in pie. Better half had creamy garlic mushrooms starter and chips. Son in law 2 had cheesy garlic bread. All of us enjoyed, speedy service from a lovely friendly young lady. All in all an excellent idea to call in. Have good memories of excellent Sunday lunches here in years gone by.

Great food and a lovely country pub. Was very nice to find out that desert comes as part of the meal. Cannot give 5 stars as there were limited choices on the carvery maybe due to the time we were eating but certain items had run out. Overall a lovely experience

Rang to see if they were open for food and our call was answered by a lovely young lady saying the kitchen was open until 8pm. When we arrived we were greeted by the same young lady, we sat down and perused the menu which had a really good variety and selection of different dishes all at a reasonable price. The lady took our order and we didn't have to wait long before our food was brought out. Both our starters and main course were cooked fresh and to perfection and were really tasty, The staff were lovely and came a few times to check everything was ok with the food,it's been a few years since I was last at Burghwallis but will be venturing back very soon

Superb food, very relaxed atmosphere even with social distancing in place. Definitely going back, great value for money. Staff extremely friendly, even the Landlady's dog came to say hello. Highly recommended

We visited last night for the first time and stopped overnight in the car park in our motorhome. The Burghwallis is a really lovely pub with great hosts, very nice reasonably priced food and laid out brilliantly for social distancing, while still keeping the atmosphere of a pub. Felt very safe both inside and overnight in the car park. We'll definitely go back there
