   We had the breakfasts, a "meaty" one and a vegetarian. Neither disappointed in both quality and quantity. My friend really liked the taste of the sausages and there was a generous amount of bacon. The veg came with a fried egg and halloumi, hummus. Avocados, a potato hash, homemade beans and a rocket salad. Plus 2 huge slices of toast! The coffee was very good. We ordered long black coffees and it came with espresso shots and hot water so you could adjust the strength to taste. No more insipid Americans! It was a wet miserable morning but as soon as I walked through the door there was a warm welcome. Service was great. Highly recommended.

   Absolutely amazing! Might just be our new breakfast spot for every future visit to Sheffield! The food is incredible and freshly cooked, flavour packed and portions to keep you full till dinner! Coffee is great as well, just the right kick to start a day of exploring.

   I’ve passed Howst a few times when I’ve been visiting Sheffield and had put it on my list to visit; today we popped in for coffee which was very tasty. It’s quite a small venue downstairs; not sure if the upstairs is used but there is also seating outside. The coffee was rich and full bodied and my husband’s pastry was good; gluten free brownie was on the menu but sadly they didn’t have any on our visit. Staff very polite and friendly.

   travelled to Sheffield for work and popped in here for breakfast. received a warm welcome from the team. very extensive breakfast menu: excellent coffee and good sized portions, all freshly prepared. will definitely be back next time I'm visiting the city!

   Food was pretty decent, I'd give it a 7/10. Did get a bit of eggshell in my fried egg though, which wasn’t great. The Deluxe Iced Coffee was really good. We wanted to hang around a bit longer and order more, but were asked to leave since there were people waiting, which was fair enough. The outside tables are on a bit of a slope, so the chairs are at an angle, which might be a little uncomfortable. Just a heads-up: there’s a 10% service charge added automatically, not sure it quite matched the service we got.

   Had a brief stop over in Sheffield and went wandering looking for a quick bite to eat and stumbled upon Howst, What an amazing find. From the moment the door opened you are welcomed in and made to feel at home, the place is nice looking and so friendly. The menu is a modern take on traditional cafe fare with a twist, with the ability to adjust things as needed (one of the first things asked is if you have any allergies) which is a very nice touch. I had the "Andy Hash" but omitted the egg, and its amazing, deep tomato flavour with a hint of pepper tipped with melted cheese and a proper sized hunk of bread on the side. My partner had a veggie breakfast but as she is vegan they altered it as needed and added something to make it not feel like it was missing out. The staff are amazingly attentive and professional, with a wonderfully friendly atmosphere that makes Howst a reason in itself to visit Sheffield, so much so we came back a touch earlier on our return journey just so we could visit again.

   What a lovely discovery. Searching for a Sunday breakfast and this was the perfect place. Opened at 09.30 a.m. prompt, with a little queue of guests already in front, clearly keen to eat in! Super friendly staff took order and food was delicious. Plenty to choose from on the menu, especially for a vegetarian like me. Quiet and off the main road so a lovely place to sit and enjoy your food and conversation. Will definitely be returning!

   Such a delightful little place. Got the smiliest & most friendly greeting from the young woman who was serving. The decor is really relaxing - green & nature vibe going on! It had such a relaxed & friendly atmosphere. And the food!!!??? OMG! I had the Ole Skillet & my mum had a bacon sandwich. 100% for both! And just by chance the music was Badly Drawn Boy, Belle & Sebastian & other lovely jangly pop! I can't recommend enough XXX

   Super friendly and welcoming! Very busy and you may have to book. The food was excellent as was the service. The portions were very generous (there were 5 rashers of bacon with my poached eggs!) Only downside was we had to wait quite a while for our food (the drinks came immediately) as they were very busy. But well worth the wait!
