This cafe is without any doubt the best cafe in Hillsborough, Sheffield. Always very friendly staff where nothing is too much trouble. Food is always exceptional where cakes are home made. Scones are so good it's very difficult not to have 2. I have no hesitation in recommending that the Buttercup is well worth making an effort to go to and enjoy a long long atmosphere.
We had the loveliest afternoon tea. Hadn't been to this cafe in many years and it didn't disappoint. The food was fresh and presented beautifully. There was too much to eat so we took a couple of cakes home with us. The service was excellent, with friendly helpful staff. It was busy when we arrived with customers who appeared to be regulars. The interior is looking a little shabby, however it fits with the classic vintage shabby chic vibe. It has been in business for the last 13 years, so its slightly tired feeling can be excused. We will definitely be back for another afternoon tea in the future.
Wonderful from start to finish. Ordered 9 afternoon teas for a small family gathering. Beautiful presentation and everything was delicious. Very reasonable prices.Staff friendly and helpful. Will definitely be ordering again. Highly recommend! Thank you Buttercup x

It was really wonderful we had afternoon tea marvellous have been again today and had afternoon tea again staff are really lovely nothing too much trouble took my granddaughter and great granddaughter we shall be going again thank you.
Never had chance to call in but today I made time and wasn’t disappointed. Lovely fresh cakes to choose from. I can recommend the cherry scones. Will defiantly be back
My husband and I frequent Buttercups several days a week and it's the best coffee shop/cafe in Hillsborough. Cupcakes, scones and cakes are all home made and delicious. Everything is spotless, the staff are all friendly and the food is cooked to order. We just love it !!!!
We cannot thank Buttercup enough for the beautiful afternoon tea that they prepared for us to take to our lovely Mum who is currently in palliative care. The order was placed at extremely short notice & was absolutely delicious! We asked for a classic afternoon tea & we received just that! Their kindness & attention to detail will never be forgotten. Our Mum loved it so, so much (as did we). HIGHLY RECOMMENDED to all. We will definitely be ordering from you again soon! Thank you guys ❤️ xxx
