Popped in here for a drink whilst over Leeds way with friends. Got to say the architecture is sensational and had the best pint of Johns ever . Also the staff and people in there were so friendly and welcoming. A real jewel of a pub with a fabulous atmosphere. Look forward to visiting again sometime.

Full of olde world character, well worth a visit for the John Smiths beer !!

Incredible place, like stepping back in time. Beautiful tiled walls and ceilings, stunning architecture. Open fire, different saloons to sit in, it's like drinking in the year 1850, it's amazing

I totally understand finding this former Tetley Heritage pub where it is located being closed at 13:30 Wednesday lunchtime when it’s advertised as open. There’s no sign of life although Euro ⚽️ bunting is up. Recently removed from CANRA’s digital cask ale guide so who knows what is happening?

Seeing this place open again after so long was amazing, the interior is just as I remember it and the staff were more than welcoming. Just remember to bring CASH. no card payments here just old school monies. Hopefully this building will remain open for the foreseeable!

Does not appear to be open, if it is then the opening times are incorrect.

Website indicates that the pub is open every day but after a long, hot and sticky walk from Leeds centre I was incredibly disappointed to find it closed. My plan was to scout out the place prior to organising a coach trip to the Garden Gate. Thank goodness Manchester pubs keep their opening hours up to date so that's where I'll be going in future.

Beautiful original art nouveau pub worth a visit for the tiles and decor alone! However, once you get there you’ll also find that the staff are great, the atmosphere is friendly and the beer is good - so what’s not to like?! Used to live in Hunslet and this was my local. I still visit whenever I’m in the area and it’s always good.

Incredible museum type building with lovely bar rooms complete with original features from turn of century. Sadly; no real ale ...come on Leeds Brewery ..what are you playing at? This is a gem and should be looked after, advertised for beer / pub enthusiasts..why run out of beer with the brewery no more than 5 mins away? !!@

wow, what a lovely pub, lovely architecture and decor and the staff were friendly. Liked the room dedicated to Hunslet rugby league club. Sadly the beer ( well my pint anyway ) was not good,it was sour. Will return however and hopefully beer back on form
