Just had a breakfast while I had an hours break..absolutely gorgeous food quick service great price and fabulous staff. Get yourself down on a sunday you definitely will not be disappointed
if I could give zero, I would) Hands down the least accommodating bar I’ve ever been to. Walked in expecting a normal night out and was instead met with an aggressive “what are you doing here?” straight to my face. Not exactly the welcome you’d expect from staff in hospitality. From that moment, it was nothing but stinking looks all round. The atmosphere was dreadful – you could cut the tension with a knife. I sat at my table, looked at the menu, waiting for at least some kind of service… instead of a friendly hello or someone asking what we’d like to drink, they came over confrontational, like we’d done something wrong just for being there. This was our first bar stop in Wakefield, and it set a terrible tone for the night. Zero warmth, zero respect, and absolutely no effort to make customers feel welcome. If you enjoy being glared at, spoken to with hostility, and made to feel like an inconvenience, then maybe this is the place for you. Otherwise – avoid at all costs. Wakefield has plenty of spots where you’ll actually be treated like a human being. The Queens is not one of them. Edit (Response to owner) : That’s simply not true. None of us walked in with our own drinks, and it’s disappointing you’d make that up rather than accept genuine feedback. We came in quietly, looked at the menu, and were met with hostility and stares instead of a welcome. And even if your version were true — isn’t it your staff’s job to offer menus and make customers feel accommodated? The fact you’re blaming customers instead of taking responsibility says everything. My review stands: the atmosphere was unwelcoming, the approach aggressive as proven , and the experience overall was one of the worst I’ve had in a bar.
Lively pub. Good beers. Great friendly staff. Made Mancunians welcome. Great entertainment.
First time in this pub 8pm on a Friday evening. Only 4 people in. £5.95 for a pint of Cruzcampo - really!?! It's a pound cheaper in the city centre. Bloke behind the bar could have been more welcoming - try a smile! But why so expensive? First & last!
We will be back. Called in after pur Sunday dog walk! Dog friendly, people friendly and amazing food.... bonus there was so much gf choice. Cant wait to check out the beer garden in summer
Walking my daughter's Dog Isla popped in for an hour beef sandwich with my wife Beverley. Fantastic skin on chips With it. Glad there was a bit of sun outside. Not been for a few years. Will be revisiting at some point.
Very smart, local pub. Nice decor, reasonable prices & very friendly service. I believe the food is also very good but not tried it yet. Well worth a visit if in the area.
Just had a cheese burger and gotta say its the best I've had in ages. My work mates also agreed. Shame this place don't do food on a Monday and Tuesday. Prices for food and drink are reasonable. Back working in wakey again next week, will visit again.
I was in Wakefield staying in a hotel close by and me and a friend were looking to eat somewhere in the vicinity. We've passed the pub previously but had never been in. We both opted for the quick bite; 4 oz rump steak (cooked to your liking) dressed salad and jacket potato for only £6.50 each. Excellent value for money and delicious. The menu is extensive and lots of choice. They even do a senior's 3 course menu for £11.00. The bar itself carers for all tastes and is well stocked. There's a pool room and TV's for sports days etc. They even let dogs in too, so if you've had an energetic walk with your pooch, put in here and relax together. The decor is modern and there's a large beer garden to the left as you enter the pub. Definitely going back when I'm in town again ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
