Strange rule about not being allowed on your phone but it’s ok for staff to be pissed on shift & to have the gents toilet door permanently open to smell the stench from within. 1st & defo last time in here!

A real old-school pub. No pretensions. Lovely tiled bar. Not a particularly nice smell in the downstairs bar. Didn't go upstairs. Sparsely furnished. Just a boozer.

I called in today and the tables were filthy. There was also a woman using her mobile phone and swearing like a trouper but nobody questioned it! Shop lifter then came in selling bottles of whiskey from a Morrisons carrier bag. Couldn’t make it up…a complete dive for sure!! Don’t know how they stay open. (This was in the upstairs bar).

Great Sam Smiths pub in the centre of Leeds. Great choice of beers and great staff. Only downside no music or mobile phones allowed .Prices vary but overall a great pub

A completely unspoiled pub with no pretension whatsoever. If you’re into the Sam’s ethos of no phones and quality beer at an affordable price it’s worth a stop. Absolutely not a pub for families or for anyone after anything other than an old fashioned old school boozer experience. Visit was at lunch time. Only saw downstairs bar.

Typical Sam Smiths pub, with it's usual restrictions but it got a 4star as the staff were fantastic

Quiet pub, old fashioned style, a Sam Smith's house with a wide range of their beers all on keg. Over the road from Leeds Market Hall. Mobile phone use banned, as is swearing. OK for dropping in for a quick one or two.

As I walked in, I felt like the whole place watched me in silence. I say down with my beer and opened my phone to find directions. I was then asked not to use my phone (in any Sam Smiths pubs). Silence again. Not a welcoming atmosphere at all. Beer was lovely.

What a dive bar. Avoid at all cost. There is a no phone policy However no one bothered with it and even the bar staff use their phones. The place is filthy and it smells really bad. The bar staff didn't know what IPA was even though it was in their fridge. The music was not that loud but some good mix of music. Very cheap beer but I would rather pay a little more for some quality staff
