Yesterday I drove over to Smart Tecnic for a check over before MOT. Ben and Jack inspected the old gal and identified a few issues. Centre rear brake light had 2 blown bulbs so was replaced with an LED version. Front screenwash jet was dismantled and cleared. Drivers side front shock needed the correct top mount so was replaced. Belt was badly worn, split in 3 places so was replaced. All looked good so off to the MOT station. Unfortunately it failed on a rusty/leaking nearside brake pipe and advisory on surface rust. Ben and Jack couldn't find any leaks and a 22 year old smart is bound to have some degree of surface rust. Not sure why this particular tester was so anal over Scratchy, perhaps he didn't like the paintwork! So Jack worked like a demon fitting a new brake line and sorting the surface rust. After bleeding the system it was taken back to the station. The same chap insisted on another thorough check over but passed it clean with no advisories. I can't begin to describe the exemplary service I received. It was above first class, these guys know smarts inside out! Jack wasn't happy with the brake pedal travel so bled the system again and I'm happy to report the brakes are working fine. During the day I had a chat with four customers, some had travelled a great distance because Smart Tecnic's reputation is unequalled. I was also extremely happy with the final invoice! They offer very fair prices and service plans. If you own a smart, local or not quite so local I can vouch you'll be very impressed with the service!
Have to let all you Smarties know about this garage. Absolutely fantastic service from the guys there! My little green Smart was very poorly. Loss of power, clutch issues, needing service and MOT. I arranged for her to be delivered on a flat bed as she wouldn’t make the drive from Leicester to Digbeth. The guys worked their magic and got her running like new! Even had a new bonnet put on because the price was very reasonable for the work needed. If you have any problems with your Smart, this is the place to go! Thank you so much guys! She handled the drive back home wonderfully although I wish I’d had the air con done haha! That was a hot drive!
Just had my Smartie serviced, MOT and front springs replaced. Car went through MOT with no advisories. I trust this garage enough to travel nearly 200 miles for Ben and his team to work on my car. They know a Smart car inside out, this makes them my Smart garage of choice. Thank you Smart -Tecnic.
I called Smart-Technic they gave me advice and help and even fitted me in the same day then completed the work the following day knowing i needed to get my repair done quickly. The price was less than i thought overall a great experience and will use them for all of my work in the future. Thanks
Back in February I broke down on the street and got my vehicle towed back to my house. The next day, after a long list of garages that I called, I spoke to Ben who was very helpful and told me I can bring the vehicle straight away. Due to the fact I am new driver I was not sure whether I was not going to break down again, however Ben reassured me and directed me of how to do it safely. After I brought the vehicle in Ben managed to repair the transmission the same day and he called me to advise about other things that were essential. With the extra work my vehicle was ready the next day and when I went to collect it Ben has given me extra information about it and advice for the future. The price was reasonable as well. I definitely reccommend!
Very thorough. They know Smart cars inside and out. Within seconds he spotted three things that needed putting right. I know other garages hadn't picked these up before. I'm going to take my Smart there whenever it needs looking at!
Arrived here late in the day after calling them with an issue from another garage with my Smart Car. Ben was curtious knowledgeable about the Smart Car, resolved my original issue and identified a couple others. All were repaired in very quick time whilst I waited Could not find any faults at all with the service received. An excellent example of how some other garages should operate and be interested in your vehicle.
I'm in the trade. I presented a host of launches for Smart UK, three Smart Car European Festivals at Brooklands, I race cars, know about vehicle tech. I wouldn't take either of our Smarts anywhere else. Ben is the best guy on Smarts I've ever met. It's a whole different level of service to a main dealer, I actually care about my cars - as many Smart owners do - so does Ben, he owns and drives LOTS of Smarts, mods them, tunes them, services them. In short he's the smartest Smart guy in the business. Don't go anywhere else. I wouldn't.
