   Came last week for some food and I chose the turkey burger. It was absolutely delicious! I also had the cheese crème brûlée starter which I’ve never seen on a menu before but it was brilliant! Lovely cosy atmosphere in a proper English countryside pub. Service was also faultless. Will definitely be back. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

   I was a member of a group of 14 lunchtime diners today and I was very impressed with the Dovecote as a venue for this type of occasion. I understand that this charming old rural pub has recently changed hands and the new management have transformed the quality of the menu. Don’t be put off by earlier reviews! The servings of Roast Beef were very generous, well-presented and enjoyed by everyone in our group. Apart from the delicious food, I want to make a special mention of the Dovecote’s ambiance. Attentive, happy staff, a cosy atmosphere and plenty of soft furnishings which helps to absorb noise and make it easier to hear your friends. I’m very much looking forward to coming to the Dovecote again, next time to try the accommodation as well.

   It wasn't as good as usual. We had booked online and said we'd be bringing our dog. This had been overlooked and instead of being allowed to use the previously allocated table, we're shunted into another small side room where dogs were allowed. Unfortunately there was a large party of drinkers. They were pleasant but very loud and the language got more and more offensive. It wasn't the ambience we were expecting. However the food, drink and service were as usual faultless. We escaped back into the bar ASAP to finish our drinks.

   Comfortable rooms with good parking. Food excellent and well served although, if you're staying to break a journey, service ends a bit early on a Sunday. Breakfast only in your room seems a bit odd at first but actually works very well particularly as the food provided is pretty good. The only downside was setting off the smoke alarm with the toaster!

   Fantastic home cooked food. We had the belly pork to start, melt in your mouth. Blade of beef was delicious, and the steak pie was awesome. You needed your appetite for both main meals. Service was excellent and nothing was too much trouble. Definitely returning soon.

   What a fantastic little gem, best food I've had out in a long long time, especially as I have coeliac disease, it was like a home cooked dinner and the staff were super friendly. Meals are great value for money. Would definitely recommend and will be back if we visit this area again.

   Sam and the Dovecote can do no wrong! We had a lovely little private room but were never forgotten by the staff, who were all amazingly friendly. The food was incredible, decent portions and the desserts were *chef's kiss*. Great selection of beers and ales too. We can't wait to come back for their Pie nights!

   The best homemade Beef and Ale pie I have ever had, with chips, gravy and mushy peas. Served with a pint of Landlord, heaven! Many thanks Sam and all the best in what must be tough times for pubs. We will definitely be back, hopefully soon.
