Perfect Sunday lunch red hot and plenty. Staff very friendly lovely atmosphere. We will be back highly recommend
Called in this pub with a group of male friends before going to the Indian restaurant over the road.We virtually all had a couple of pints of Sam Smiths bitter and boy we wasn't disappointed.The staff were very friendly and they were a few old characters in just like the old days,can't wait to go again.
Good place for food, excellent bar staff, lovely clean place, had Sunday lunch and a great choice of 4 meats, excellent service we will be back again, thankyou
***UPDATE*** They Now accept CARD PAYMENTS. Unfortunately the Red Lion is no longer serving food. It's a great place to have pre drinks before going over the road to the Indus Indian restaurant. Gunness lovers should try their Stout its very moreish.

Covid update, a pint is now 3.40, an eye watering (for a Yorkshireman) 50% increase. They also have a ban on smartphones Good Sam Smiths pub. Friendly staff. Cheap. Pub quiz on a Monday night. Good Sunday dinner on the afternoon.
Fantastic atmosphere, some brilliant ale at great value. Best pub in Yorkshire.
