Had the Festive menu here 20th December. Superb. Staff couldn't do enough, food was beautiful and the price is very very good. Personally recommend the loaded roasties. We sat as a table of 10 and nobody had a cold or late dish. All in all a 5 star place.
We came in today to eat and get a feel for my girlfriends birthday meal, we took a look through the menu before arriving and settled on purple rain cocktails ultimate chicken and rib meal And burgers, when we got there they not only didn’t have purple rain but no vodka in the pub at all somehow, So we went back to the table to order food and again no food we couldn’t have the chicken and ribs they were out off all mixed grills out of ribs and lots of other items, we ended up ordering a cheese burger and cowboy burger and 2 wkd blue bottles, we were shocked to learn the small wkd bottles were 5.70 each but since that’s all they had we had to make do, the burgers arrived soon after ordering and wow they were amazing totally saved the night
Our 1st time here for lunch & it won't be our last.The pub is clean & Chloe who served us was so welcoming & friendly.Our meals were spot on....tasty & filling.We are looking forward to returning!
Held a joint 50th Wedding Anniversary for my parents and 50th Birthday Party for myself. From the moment I first contacted Scott and Leah at The Woodman they were superb and really wanted to help me and my family and friends have the best possible party. The set-up was great, the hot and cold buffet was superb and the staff on the night were all spot-on. Genuinely couldn't fault anything about it. Thankyou so much Scott, Leah and the team.
I arrived here on Wednesday and enjoyed it so much that I came back on Thursday! First off, both days, I was welcomed by Leah, like a friend coming home. The cleanliness of the establishment is unmatched. Lovely outdoor seating area and plenty of room and tables inside. The first day, I went for a beef madras and a pint (sorry, no pics). For £12 and optional extras, great deal. The second day, I had leak and potato soup, then the steak deal £14 with a £1.50 supliment to upgrade to sirloin and a pint. Well, that was a no-brainer. Steak was cooked bang on and very tasty. The leak n tatty soup was good and thick just as I like it. Thank you, everyone involved in making my visits very pleasant and inviting, especially Leah. I will be returning when I'm in the area next.
We had a two hour slot for our meal. The service was very slow in between courses then when the puddings came we were told someone was waiting for our table. Asked for condiments but didn't get them. Small portions average price. Service and food was a lot better a few years ago.
The place was packed out but because we had booked a table we didn't have to stand. Everyone was in a happy mood and the atmosphere was great. Had a lovely family get together.
We had Breakfast with Santa this morning at the Woodman - it was fantastic! Great value for money. The kids loved the activities and had lots of individual time with Santa. Plenty of opportunities for photos too. Santa was great and spent lots of time with each child. The breakfasts and unlimited tea and coffee were great too! Will definitely be booking for next year! Thank you to all at the Woodman!

Me and my hubby have lunch regularly. We find it to be a pleasant pub with friendly staff and a good atmosphere. The weekday afternoons are quiet and the perfect for a catch up and little rest after a walk with our baby girl.
