After driving past for 43 years I decided to pop in for some food while out with the wife. The lady serving was extremely welcoming and polite, drinks and food were ordered at the bar however keeping a table open was no problem. The menu has a plentiful selection of all the expected pub food and some modern favourites so will have something for everyone. The wife opted for a chicken and mushrooms pie which she was super happy to be offered with mash and not just fried options. The portion size was ample and the real cravy was a nice addition. When I pushed for a rating she finally settled for a very solid 8/10. I opted for a hotdog, bit different from my usual but why not. The hotdog was very, very nice indeed, a bit much for me with the size of the meal with the bread from the hotdog and chunky chips. The hotdog itself was a work of art and the options for extras including cheese made it feel more like an American hot dog experience. For me 7/10 just because the size proved too much but if you have a good appetite and love hotdogs it may be the best meal ever. The wife opted for a large Rose, hard to go wrong with that one and she certainly didn't complain. Bring a non drinker I asked for 0% options, 3 lagers, 1 cider and guiness were offered and I opted for a Stella 0% which was perfectly acceptable, possibly better than Heineken 0% but what a whole different review. The pub was empty except for 1 regular enjoying a drink but it was a weekday lunch time, hence the 3star atmosphere however I bet that is a 5star when busier. Food I rated at 5star as overall neither of us could pick fault with the food for the price. Overall, I can firmly say we will be back! It could hardly be called a hidden gem considering location and size but a gem it remains.

Quite rainy afternoon when I dropped in. Had a cheeky pint of Guinness which was alright. Nobody else in so felt a bit lacking. Heaters were on and a good place to stop in for a quick pint. Reckon it gets busy at the weekends mind.

Myself and my partner are in Nottinghamshire visiting family and are stay within walking distance of the pub. Nice quiet pub, with easy access. To the front is a small seating area, to enjoy a pint with friends. Inside has a eating area and a bar/games area. Very clean and friendly public house. We have 2 dogs and was welcomed by a friendly member of staff. The food was to a good standard. Prices of drinks where at a very good price. Well recommended a visit.Well done to all and thank you.

Food is brilliant, perfectly cooked and came out within a timely manner. We have visited on a couple of occasions recently and enjoyed it both times! The world cup had a brilliant atmosphere . All staff attentive and friendly. Nothings to much trouble. Nice spaces for private parties/meals with a minimal deposit to pay. Would definately recommend. Just needs somewhere for the kids to play. (my daughter loved the toy box at the private party however) EDIT!! THERE'S A CHILDREN'S PLAY AREA HIDDEN OUT THE BACK! And a little summer garden area! We missed it first time we visited. The food was just as delicious second time round too!

Really nice and warm place. Little bit old fashioned but it's an advantage. Very kind crew and owners. Full english breakfasts were really tasty!

First time back here for a while and we really enjoyed the food. They have various deals on depending on the day you go but we took advantage of 2 meals for £13.75. There was a good choice overall on the menu and although there was a longish wait for our food to come out it was worth it.. The staff member who served us was really helpful and friendly and made us feel really welcome. Would definitely recommend.
