Recently visited with my sister who had been throwing up and had bad abdominal pain for 5 days. She is not one to make a fuss and is always very grateful and understanding. However after waiting 9 1/2 hours to get told repeatedly that they were dealing with very sick people and being the last patient to be seen was disgusting. I did tell them she is a terminal cancer patient in between treatment courses. This is the 3rd time she's been through cancer treatment,1st breast, then Bowel, then major surgery and aggressive bowel again which is terminal. Understandably she was worried after 5 days of no improvement. Surely someone can decant the less urgent patients in a more humane way. Dr said nothing in bloods or phys exam, but well give fluids although she's not dehydrated?. So keep her in hospital for no reason and open to infection???? What about hospital bed spaces???? No sense to advised treatment, no communication or regard for waiting times! Did not see 2 doctors working on 1 patient at a time so why not clear the waiting room with a few more minor cases whilst mixing in with the more urgent. It was chaos!! the worst experience I've had a Chorley Hospital. Whoever was organising that shift in MAU wants removing!! very distressing and exhausting as my sister was very vulnerable and worried!! And very polite and understanding. Very poor

I was admitted to leyland ward on 27/11/25 for surgery. I can honestly say that every single member of staff from the porters to the surgeon Mr Hijazi were wonderful, i was treated with the upmost dignity and respect. The culture on the ward is one of care, nothing was too much trouble, i was made to feel welcome and important, my pain was never left to become out of control. Special thanks to Polly on day staff who went above and beyond even taking my wheelchair cushion seat cover to wash it for me, special thanks also to Julie on nights who couldn’t do enough for me during a long night when sleep evaded me. The care i received was second to none. Thank you leyland ward, please don’t change the culture on the ward…… you’ve got it spot on! Leyland ward has been my best NHS experience, can’t thank you enough. My only criticism is the tv, i purchased the £5 per day package, you need headphones to watch the tv but the ward don't have them due to cross contamination risk so if you are getting a tv package take in headphones! Parking is a nightmare too. Other than that perfect

I had a pleasant experience at Chorley Hospital a&e department. Everyone was so pleasant and helpful especially male physiotherapist. Nothing was to much trouble for him. He made sure I was well looked after at each stage that I went through to find out what was wrong with my swollen foot. Excellent experience Ian Smith

Today we took our 87 year old friend for a MIR scan we are very disappointed that when he was brought back to the waiting area afterwards he was extremely upset. This was due to the staff man handling him in an abrupt manner and with no compassion to his age or condition. It took him over a hour after leaving before he mentioned it to us. This was one of the staff that that take you through for the mri . Please have more respect for elderly people and there conditions

Amazing staff. They worked tirelessly to diagnose and treat the unusual form of pneumonia I had. The department was clean and modern. I am very grateful to all the staff in the A&E department.

Went to orthopedic ward yesterday for some block injections all day appointment and could not fault one thing the team of staff were so caring and I was taken care of so professionally. The ward was kept so clean. It was painful but the consultant and team really took care of me. They even supplied lots of sandwiches and drinks free all day ❤️ Thank you so much Delese

So pleased I went here. I am new to this town and needed antibiotics for a dental emergency whilst I wait to go to the dentist. I was put at ease by all the kind staff who work very hard to get everyone seen as quick as possible. I was only there for two hours to my amazement. Very professional kind staff and pleasant atmosphere for a hospital. Thank you so much

I have had several appointments recently and more to come. In my opinion this hospital is second to none. The staff are professional but friendly and very caring. When I read about waiting lists in other parts of the country I think we are so Blessed with our NHS in Chorley hospital.

It would have been 5 stars, but the lady on the switchboard let you down!( she was a little abrupt, to say the least!) I called 111 and the nurse got me an appointment at urgent care at Chorley. My appointment was at 12pm. I was seen by two nurses, the x Ray department, then back to a nurse. I was out for 1:10pm! Fantastic job!

Took my partner here a couple of weeks ago, late at night, with a post surgery infection. The staff were absolutely amazing. Caring and compassionate, efficient in their administration of care and got him to where he needed to be very quickly. I cannot praise them highly enough.
