As I was staying in the Pastures Hotel for two nights for work I decided to book in here on the first night with intentions of going somewhere else the second evening. But after not realising they did carveries each weekday evening I decided to book here again the second evening instead. The first night I had the Dirty Burger. It came with two 3oz burgers, shredded pulled pork, two fried onion rings, two strips of bacon, one fried egg and all the trimmings: it was a huge burger beset by a bun. Included were coleslaw and chunky chips. I must say it was delicious but the sheer amount of the portion I genuinely could not finish everything. The second night I decided on the carvery. The choice of meat was Gammon, Beef and Turkey. Im not a fan of gammon and due to Christmas nearing I didn’t want turkey so opted for the beef. Glad I did as the beef was incredibly tender and very tasty indeed. The server placed the carved beef onto the plate so much so there was little room for the veggies and roasties. To remember there was Yorkshire Pudding, mash potatoes, carrots, sprouts, broccoli, cabbage, roast potatoes… and some other tubs of others trimmings to add. The staff were very helpful and asked if things were ok. I sat in the adult section in the quiet area. There is a family section too. Overall this establishment is a great place for food. Yes by all means check out the menu but you will definitely enjoy the carvery!

Lovely place, very friendly and polite staff, very helpful. Fine selection of real ale. Food excellent, and served promptly, absolutely no flaws. I came to commemorate my grandfather at the local remembrance service, my stay and thr excellent service made my whole trip most enjoyable. Many thanks indeed. Heaven looked after my culinary and alcoholic requirements and did a fab job. I'll definitely be back.

First time in the pastures since the new menu was introduced. I was going to pick from the menu until I noticed the carvery was now on early evenings. What a great choice the food was and the meat choice excellent. I and my family look forward to returning soon as we have done so in the past on many occasions. Thanks to all the staff for their friendly approach and service.

This is only my second visit here and we decided to try the carvery and we're glad we did. Quickly served at the bar for drinks and ordering food. No problem finding a table mid week but would be wise to book on a weekend. Had a choice of 3 meats, 3 sorts of potatoes and 7 vegetables. I had the beef & pork with roast potato, roast carrot, broccoli, cauliflower, Swede (thankfully not mashed) white cabbage, leeks, crackling and gravy. I didn't have a Yorkshire pudding but my husband said his was beautiful. Would definitely recommend.

Friendly helpful staff. Carvery is very good value for money, even better during weekdays. Sunday carvery is very popular so expect to Q. You will certainly get a good plateful. The Yorkie puds are awesome and the veg is cooked how we like it, not crunchy. The beef was very well done, nice n tender but I prefer beef cooked pink. Each to their own. I recommend booking for the Sunday carvery, the 1pm slot is very busy. Overall 9/10 for me and look forward to regular visits.

Went to the function room for a Christmas celebration on Saturday. Very nice meal, served warm which was good considering how many meals were served. The bar staff were very efficient and there was never a queue. The entertainment was Four Tops tribute act and kept the dance floor filled all evening. Would definitely recommend.

Went for a meal with 5 friends on a Friday evening. Decent size car park, though there are a few steps to reach the entrance on the car park side - I didn't see if the other entrances were step free / wheelchair accessible. Inside is nice decor, and a good size, with a mix of bar stool and high tables, and more traditional seats and square or round tables. Some of the seating areas are slightly raised, need 1-2 steps to reach, so again access might be an issue. Staff were pleasant and welcoming, the place was clean and tidy, and service was good. The menu is fairly traditional pub fayre, with plenty of options, and the prices were reasonable. Food came out fairly quickly, was hot and fresh, well presented and our order was spot on. Toilets were a decent size and well maintained, though unfortunately the disabled loo was out of service. They have a family seating area, and what looks like a kids activity centre, so potentially a good place to bring the youngsters and let them go mental for a bit... Overall a nice meal in pleasant surroundings, would be happy to go again.

Eaten here regularly over the years and the food has always been of a consistently high standard. Today's meal was delicious! The slow roasted lamb fell apart and there was a very generous serving of mashed potatoes, green beans, carrots, broccoli and roast parsnip with extra gravy. Everyone else in our group was equally impressed with their meals. We shall be back!

Came here for a small wedding reception a few months ago and it was lovely. The staff were attentive and everything went smoothly. It was a shame that we didn't have our own little section of tables away from other people but it wasn't too disruptive thankfully. There's a massive selection of food which all sounds great. I had the seafood basket which was so filling. Literally a big fryer basket filled with all sorts of things. The sauces and chips were tasty too. Everyone else's food looked good as well. Can't fault it and I hope to come back at some point.
