   We'd booked a table for 16 on a busy Saturday afternoon (01/11/25) as the food (and drink!) stop on our twice yearly Peak District minibus pub trip. We'd explained to the landlord/manager Taran that we were on a tight schedule as this was only one of 8 stops over the course of our 90 mile daytrip from Stockport. Our reserved table in the window opposite the famous spire was all set upon our arrival and the food starting coming out within minutes after we'd had time to go to the bar to order our drinks in. A wide range of option were selected - small plates, burgers, traditional pub food - and all were found to be excellent, delicious, well-cooked, generous portions and good value. The service was rapid (as we had requested!) due to our own time constraints but was nevertheless friendly and personal at all times. The real ale selection was excellent - amongst the best of the day - and they were all in tip top condition. The pub was pretty crowded but there was a fantastic atmosphere which we would have loved to have soaked up for longer but for our need to press on. An excellent job all round for all concerned and one of the highlights of our trip. Thank you to Taran and all his brilliant staff!

   Called in here with a workmate,killing a couple of hours between jobs. It was very quiet at around 4.30pm, but within an hour was very busy. Cracking selection of beers/lagers. Very friendly lady behind the bar. We both ordered the fish fingers on ciabatta - very, very nice, and the chips were proper ones too, none of your oven chips here! Staff were very friendly and attentive. Highly recommended!

   Staff were exceptionally lovely and checked on us once we had finished our meal. It was a very hot day and considering the conditions they had to work in (heat!!) they were very polite and professional. I had the hot honey halloumi wrap with skinny fries, it was amazing and I would definitely visit and eat there again. Food was also very affordable in my opinion, for my food and a pint of pepsi max it came to £16. The pub/restaurant itself was quite warm and would benefit from Aircon to make customers more comfortable in the warmer weather. I think because of the warmth it seems more loud and overwhelming inside than it perhaps was. Bathrooms could also do with some updating as there was only one functioning sink.

   Such a gem of a pub! Great food and selection of beer. It was very busy every night we walked past it. We went on a Sunday for some dinner, they serve food until 7pm on Sundays and we got there just before and still were served. We had really good fish and chips (massive portion) and some bangers and mash which was 10/10. Great interior too, and lovely for a dinner with friends and family as they have lots of big tables.

   Food was lovely. Had the cubano and I'd have taken a picture but it was so good I ate it too quickly. The place looks great. We went on a Wednesday night around 7 and it was busy, each table full. We were seated in the middle (table 3 I think) and it was hard to fully enjoy the atmosphere, food and drink with everyone going to and from the bar having to brush past. I think it would have been more enjoyable seated elsewhere but it was easy to feel like an inconvenience especially as there was only 2 if us but the table seated 5. Overall I'd definitely visit again and really recommend the food, I just wouldn't eat if it was the same table allocated.

   Very good pub in Chesterfield, next to The Crooked Spire Church. Fairly modern décor, reasonable selection of cask ales and a generally good atmosphere characterize this venue. It's also pretty big. There's a small area for outside seating and smoking on the side of the building. Nice place, friendly staff.
