I recently spent eight days here on the Major Trauma Ward after a road accident, and the whole place had such warm, caring vibes. The staff are truly passionate about what they do, and it really shows in the way they look after you. Even the day-to-day things made a real difference — the meals were varied, the facilities were adapted for special needs, and there was a lovely, supportive feeling among the patients. My heartfelt thanks to Dr Luke and to the wonderful nurses Kim, Ameera and Frederica for their kindness and care — and of course to Fred, the therapy dog.

Was rushed to ST Mary’s hospital after being found unresponsive outside my house and had to be resuscitated in AE and instantly taken to ICU (Intensive Critical Unit), all this told after stepping down after nearly 2 weeks to Douglas Ward due to Acute organ failure. Spending nearly one month at this ward being taken care of by incredible amazing staff from day one learning to eat, walk and slowly coming off all the tubes and machines in the end became somewhat of a veteran seeing people coming and going. They where there at my most vulnerable and showed kindness compassion even when dealing with other very difficult aggressive patients. I can’t express my gratitude enough! Thank you always!

Went here as a tourist mainly to see the Lindo Wing steps where the royals step out to introduce a new baby to the public. Because of construction, what should've been a straightforward shot from Paddington Station became a meandering lost walk through the piss smelling side streets and alleys, but thanks to CityMapper, we eventually found it. The architecture is nice, but if you didn't know the significance of the spot, you could easily pass it without much thought. When we went, the door was partially open, so we could take a peek inside which was just a typical waiting area with seating. Finding our way back out was much easier since instead of bothering with the side streets, we went out to the main road and made our way back to Paddington Station a few minutes away.

Everyone has something good or bad to say about their visit to a hospital. Most of the negatives usually concern delays, but what can be done to fix the situation? Excellent building and in a highly accessible location very close to Paddington Underground

Really hard to find your way inside, poor signage and no helping staff around. My letter said 3rd floor for x-ray, got there, was told by x-ray reception there was no x-ray on that floor, had to go to 1st floor. Arrived there, no-one to help, no reception, had to stop a random staff member and ask for help. Poor service in the x-ray room, had to change to a gown and there were no hangers for my clothes. Much better experience in the MRI department, good facilities and great and considering staff.

Bad experience with receptionists at a&e last night, never had an a&e receptionist speak to me like this at all. When I arrived, there was 2 receptionists sitting at the desk. I waited behind the line like the sign said for 2 minutes, assumed that neither of them had noticed me there despite my coughing, I then approached one of them and stood there for a minute until she said "I'm not available", so I went back and waited behind the line. When eventually called forward, they spoke to me as if I shouldn't be there, when they have no understanding of my health condition and therefore do not understand the full story, and have no medical training to understand how I could escalate without prompt treatment- it's as if they assume anyone who comes through the door is automatically a time waster. This wasn't even the first place I came to try and get help, I had asked the staff at Paddington station to search their medical room for the device I needed, and I went to Boots pharmacy but the pharmacist had gone home as it was late Sunday evening so they couldn't give me anything, and they told me the hospital was the only option. I understand they have paperwork to do "behind the scenes", but when they're both doing paperwork and there is a person standing right in front of them, surely one of them should prioritise the person in front of them. I know the NHS is overstretched but there is no excuse for this attitude towards someone who wasn't even kicking up a fuss.

Went to St Mary's today for my son's abdominal cramps. The nurse was amazing with him , despite the challenges doctors usually face because of his special needs. The nurse had such a warming personality and you could tell that he was so experienced with kids. He was calm, patient and managed to get all the checks done! (This is never the case usually). The doctor, Taylor, was so lovely too. She was very professional and reassuring. She was really patient and distracted my son with toys and bubbles. He liked her and allowed her to do her checks. I didn't manage to get the name of the nurse, but he had blonde hair, was tall and friendly looking. Thank you staff, you're absolutely amazing.
