I recently stayed for 11 nights following surgery. Having stayed a couple of years ago at St John & St Elizabeth, having had an incredible experience , I was expecting a similar one. Unfortunately, couldn't have been more different. The majority of staff were so unfriendly (not even smiles or hellos), it took absolutely ages for the bell to be responded to and time and time again I had to remind them to administer my pain medications and they just seemed so distracted all the time and kept forgetting! There were a very small handful of staff members who were really lovely (mainly the physio team), the rest just seemed to be going through the motions. A huge shout out to the stoma nurses Rali & Petya, without them I don't know what I'd have done! I'd had major surgery and at no time did I really feel genuinely looked after from an empathetic and caring point of view either. The experience at St John & St Elizabeth were like chalk and cheese. For the money one pays to have the privilege of private medical cover, I would expect much more from the Wellington. Definitely not the best experience following on from huge, life altering surgery!

I had the most amazing care at the Wellington Hospital. My consultant Jonathan Miles explained everything about my procedure. I felt very comfortable throughout the whole process. My anaesthetist Ramish was excellent. Each and every member of staff I encountered was truly processional, and most of all they made me feel so special. The food was excellent, and nothing was too much trouble for the staff. Their customer care was excellent.

Surgeon was great but I was shocked how moody the nurses were especially for such a cost, it seemed very tired on the wards. The nurse didn’t even say bye when I was discharged or good luck, the job was done well but no warmth or friendliness, definitely not what it claims to be on the wards, the office stuff etc are so lovely I must say.

Terrible! Never again. Only 2 good nurses for many patients - wait an hour for someone to answer bell. Nobody to accompany me to bathroom. Kitchen gets order totally wrong- cold toast, no butter or jam! Hot water off until midday, heating thermostat not working - Generally not acceptable!. I would like to add that the doctors & consultants were excellent - five stars !

I recently stayed at The Wellington Hospital, WHS 5th Floor, Room 505, for a knee surgery procedure, and I am absolutely delighted with the experience. From the moment I arrived, everything was organised, spotless, and very precise. The hospital is extremely clean, well-managed, and runs perfectly on time. The nursing staff were incredible – especially the wonderful ladies who cared for me directly in my room. They were so kind, cheerful, and full of positive energy, which made such a difference during my recovery. Their attentiveness and warmth really stood out. The medical team was outstanding. My anaesthetist, Dr. Nathalie Courtois-Purgas, was excellent, and the surgical team worked seamlessly. My consultant, Mr. Chinmay Gupte, was truly amazing – his professionalism and care gave me full confidence throughout the entire process. After the surgery, the pharmacist and physiotherapist came to see me, and both were very thorough. The physiotherapist, in particular, guided me through everything I needed to know, which was very reassuring. On top of all the excellent care, I was pleasantly surprised to find my favourite Temple Spa products in the bathroom. It made me feel at home and added such a thoughtful, luxurious touch to my hospital stay. Overall, the entire team was exceptional. I honestly have no words to fully express my gratitude for the care, kindness, and professionalism I received. It was a truly outstanding experience, and I wholeheartedly thank The Wellington Hospital and its wonderful staff for everything

Avoid at any cost! I`ve never experienced so inadequate service from Private Heath care. On 21 february ago I was booked for an appointment with a consultant because of bloated stomach and flatulence. Prof Bloom was great and referred me to diagnostics test, ultrasound and full bloods. My test were booked to the wrong date than what`s discussed but eventually after several phone calls and unnecessary delays, i had it all done at The Princess Grace Hospital part of HCA. Keep in mind they don't do bloods for outpatients there, so i had to go and have bloods test done at another clinic. I wish i was told that in advance by the person in Wellington Hospital who made the booking. Anyway, 3 weeks later, not a word from the doctor`s office. I tried to call the PA on many occasions, left numerous voice messages, no reply whatever! The staff from the main switchboard have been very helpful though but yet, the breath test i should have received at home weeks ago was never dispatched. It`s simply shocking that with the high charges, the doctor`s secretary wouldn't even return my call after all my voice messages i left. Basically 6 weeks after my initial appointment I am desperately trying to arrange a follow up appointment and it seems impossible. Compared to HCA Wellington Hospital NHS is extremely efficient. Avoid at any cost!

I had a minor procedure done as an oupatient. The medical team was good and helpful. The admin side was a nightmare. They "forgot" to send the bill for months and then billed incorrectly for an amount over twice as much as what another more complex procedure cost me at a different hospital. They also refused to itemize the bill. It messed up my insurance benefits and it took another couple of months to rectify during which time I had bills piling up. Fortunately, my insurance rectified what the hospital didn't, but this induced a terrible amount of anxiety that is the last thing you need when you are already unwell.

I had brain surgery there last week and every single person who cared for me was exceptional! The food was wonderful, too! I have nothing but praise for the staff and facilities!

Quite simply phenomenal. Of course, most reviews are based on wether a patient had a successful outcome or not, and thats understandable, but taking each element at a time, this private hospital is unbeatable. PRE-OP - Staff were amazing, the room very good indeed, the food incredibly good considering its a hospital POST OP - Again, staff were superb, High dependency room, absolute care, then recovery superb care STAFF - nurses and doctors are amazing per say, but The Wellington has the best, 24/7, and thats a real 24/7 KITCHEN - Well done chef, a fabulous menu each day, really very good good OVERAL - Yes, its expensive, and of course not all can afford it, but if you can, its money so well spent, because the levels of everything are so, so high SPECIAL PEOPLE - South building, Moustafa, Linda and Vicky, all of whom were above and beyond. THE STAR OF THE SHOW - Mr James Allibone, Neurosurgeon, what Churchill was to The UK, Mr Allibone was to me........a saviour

Drs seem ok . The admin/ secretary so so arrogant and has not got as good organisation skills as nhs . After she told me ( fee paying ) to call hospital myself to arrange numerous check myself I then switched to other Prviate doctors & hospitals with better attitude . She then carry on emailing me to call me “ abrupt “ . Be honest . I am happier with nhs if not fuss about a particular date/ time / location . I have much much better fee- paying experience with Cromwell hospital & new Victoria than this north London wellington . Those 2 are super organised, super responsive even mobile number can reach them, with can-do attitude in timely attentive manners . I feel sorry for good surgeons in Wellington who lose out fee paying patients just because of the hire of wrong secretaries & admins .
