The best Sunday Dinner bar my Mum's that I've had in a pub. I had the Slow Roast Leg of Lamb that came with roasties, mash, carrots, seasonal greens, a massive Yorkshire pudding and gravy. I also had some cauliflower cheese as an extra which was well worth £3. I had Raspberry Gin Cheesecake for pudding. I am stuffed now as they don't stint on portion sizes. The staff were lovely as well. Very friendly. I will definitely come here again for Sunday dinner xxx

Update new management: I came for lunch and had a smaller portion of rhe fish and chips. It was very nice and would definitely come back again. The rest of the menu is a little on the pricey side. Old management: I really like the walkley cottage, the food is good and the staff are very friendly. It also has a decent beer garden!

I live pretty much opposite the pub. I live alone, am from Ireland and have no family in Yorkshire. The WC is probably my favourite pub in Sheffield. High quality, tasty food that is priced fairly. Good selection of ales and beer. Friendly staff, down to earth & homely atmosphere. Dogs are welcome.

We went for Sunday roast and you can't go wrong! It was delicious, had good portions, and was reasonably priced. We had homemade cheesecake and it was nice and fancy. The toilets were very clean and in general, the atmosphere was quite good. We were made welcome at the beginning but then were forgotten by the girls until a very gentlemanly man, which we believe was the owner, came to serve us and was so attentive and friendly, he served us until the end. We definitely will go back again!

Classic, spacious local pub with a friendly, welcoming feel. Super polite staff are cheery and always in good form. Some of the nicest food you will find anywhere. A little gem!

Very Disappointing. My wife had booked a table for 6pm on the evening when they were having the fireworks display. Upon arrival we were shown to our table and told it was table service, all fine, 10 minutes later nobody had been to the table for drinks or to bring a menu so my wife enquired at the bar to be told the kitchen had closed and the only food available was burgers and hot dogs outside in the garden (which was so rammed full there was no way in!) We weren't told this when booking and certainly wouldn't have made the trip (30 minutes in the car!) If we had been told. Another family were also in the same boat as us so it wasn't an isolated incident.

Strolled down from Crookes and found this lovely pub just before the steep descent to Hillsborough. Had a good pint of Bradfield Farmers blond. The pub is split into a dining area and a drinking area. Very comfortable interior and a lovely beer garden to the rear. Sunday roasts are advertised.

We've been to the Walkley Cottage twice since it reopened. The new owner is very friendly and the staff are very helpful. We had the halloumi and chops the first time we went which was excellent and today we ordered from the new small plates menu, again excellent. There was a slight error with one of our dishes but this was corrected quickly and the staff were very apologetic. We will definitely be back for lots more meals out.
