This pub was recommended by my parents as a good place for a meal and a real ale, on the day of the booking I admit to looking at the reviews and getting a bit worried, however I have got to say it did not disappoint, 5 (I think) Titanic beers plus 3 guest, the decor was traditional pub, with lovely Christmas lights, managed to find space in the car park too. The food was excellent, we had 5 different meals all really nice, steak, gammon, fish pie, fish and chips and a burger, real chips as well! Followes by 5 desserts, the crumble was a very good portion, and the stick toffee Christmas pudding was delicious. The lady who took our orders and delivered food was fantastic and provided great service all night. I would like to return in daylight so I can appreciate the countryside next time!

Really lovely pub, have sat outside and inside. A bit smaller inside than I expected but still pretty. Didn’t eat as Sunday carvery was a bit expensive and didn’t include chicken

David the manager was very jovial and nothing was too much trouble. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the service was good. The meals had good portions and the choices were healthy, The cooked breakfasts were fine but sadly no cereals or fruit. The accommodation was clean and reasonably priced. Gordon and Carolyn

Ate here today as both other pubs not open for food, the staff were okay but the chef was not in a good mood, the tables were dirty and sticky, ordered pate, bread was stale and no chutney as promised just a old piece of salad on the plate, fish and chips not too bad but fish batter a bit wet, chips were nice tho, asked for garden peas and got mushy peas which I do not eat, over all very disappointing. Pub was full of locals tho so they obviously like it, not good for tourists. Would not go back.

Used to be a brilliant pub but disappointed since took over by Titanic brewery. No bitter of any kind just Titanic IPAs. A lot less people in than there used to be. Noisy disco on Saturday night and few customers. On the upside it is still a nice pub though and the young staff are very polite.

We called in two weeks ago for Sunday roast and have had midweek lunches there. Lovely atmosphere, very friendly staff and we could take our two poodles. Peter and Maria

Great proper pub, fantastic staff, especially Diana - as a large family we ate there with very little notice, great food.

Visited for a quick pint. Love this village and pub but I hadn't been for a few years. Two surly barmaids on duty. Not particularly busy. Waited 5 mins to be acknowledged. An absolute minimum of pleasantries (non at all to be honest) once served no apologies for the wait. Average pint and overall a fairly disappointing visit.

Had a really nice meal here. Staff were really friendly and food was good. Haven't been here for many years and was pleasantly surprised by how much the pub had improved since our previous visit. Will be returning.
