Had a wonderful Sunday lunch here today. Food was lovely and the service was quick and our server Radhana was brilliant, she made everyone feel at home and was brilliant with the kids. Roast dinners were top notch, will definitely be back.
The 3 of us went for a meal and the service was atrocious. We waited nearly an hour for our meals after ordering and then, after finishing our meals, another 45 minutes to have our plates cleared and dessert menu offered. The meals were wonderful but unfortunately not worth the wait. They definitely need to organise their staffing better as the one lady staffing the restaurant was run off her feet whilst the three to four staff behind the bar were just stood around. Many of the customers around us, including us, had a 40% off promotion voucher and The Florentine just could not cope with demand, turning people away, even though they appeared to be only half full. Even though the food was nice, I would not recommend The Florentine to anyone wanting to go there for a meal and will not be going again.
Went for dinner with friends. Very average food, the lamb dish with mini pie came quite small I was expecting much more on the plate. The sea bass is okay, pan fried I understand but comes very oily, ultimate burger not ultimate I would say, again very average. Prices are s big high for what you get. Very average, nothing special, won’t be going back.
We visited The Florentine in Sheffield's Fulwood area yesterday, and it was a solid spot for a casual meal. The food stands out, especially the Sunday lunch—roast beef with proper Yorkshire puddings, fresh veggies, and good gravy that all comes together nicely without any fuss. Service was efficient and friendly, with staff who knew their stuff and kept things moving. The atmosphere is welcoming: building is impressive, large tables with plenty of room, comfortable seats, and a mix of locals that gives it a relaxed pub feel Overall, it's definitely worth checking out if you're nearby and in the mood for reliable pub grub. We look forward to going back again soon!
We had a lovely stay here over the weekend of our wedding. We booked out all the rooms for our family, and the hotel handled the group booking with no issues at all, even though we all arrived on different days and times. Julie, the manager, and the entire team were absolutely wonderful, so welcoming and friendly. Everyone congratulated us on the wedding, and the overall atmosphere was warm and relaxed throughout our stay. Our room (deluxe suite) was spacious and comfortable, and the breakfast each morning was great. We also had a table for 21 in the restaurant one evening, we had pre-ordered a week before, and everything was handled really smoothly. We couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay. We’ll definitely be coming back; this is now our go-to hotel in Sheffield. Highly recommended for families, groups, or anyone looking for a well-run, friendly place to stay.
Really impressed with the service and food at The Florentine on our 1st ever visit. We had the 3 course Mother's Day menu. Both the starters and the desserts were flawless, especially the tiramisu baked alaska. Main courses were great, but I think we felt you could leave off the salad leaves and mangetout, and instead give a lot more gravy! Saying that, the meats were cooked really well and the portion sizes were good. Would definitely recommend and return ☺️
Came for a Sunday Roast with the family, 6 of us in total (4 Adults and 2 Children). The food was amazing but the service was slow. It was at least 45 minutes from ordering to eating our main courses. There was a large party in the restaurant also but at no point were we informed that there could be a delay which would have been nice. Once we had the dessert menus also there was a big gap before anyone came to take the order. I would come back as the food is lovely and the staff are all friendly but just they just need to work on the timings and the contact with the customers.
We held our wedding reception at the Florentine earlier this month. It was a fantastic day, everything ran really smoothly, in large part thanks to the efforts of the staff. They were very accommodating with letting us put up some decorations and helping us take everything down. All our guests also commented on how delicious the food was! We stayed in the rooms for a couple of nights, which were well equipt and very comfortable. We would like to specifically thank Julie and Tom, whose work really helped the day go off without a hitch!
CANNOT PRAISE THE STAFF ENOUGH. We used The Florentine for a 50th Wedding Anniversary surprise party. From the beginning the staff were extremely helpful. Beth dealt with our booking, and nothing was too much trouble. On the day of the party I dealt with Jake, who again was brilliant. For the ‘do’ we chose to go for the Gold buffet option provided by The Florentine: the food was delicious; not your average sausage roll and cheese on sticks. There was way too much! We ended up take doggy bags home. Price wise I would say it was excellent value for money (the room hire was free.) and would highly recommend for any party/event. In my reviews I try to offer a balance, including negatives. However with the Florentine I can’t think of any negatives. Gold stars all round.
