   This place is dangerous and careless. Come only if you are just looking to pay someone to prescribe you drugs, don't come if you actually need a proper examination and diagnosis. This clinic prioritizes speed and profit over proper care. We've visited twice and both times were seen by a "doctor" who did a rushed exam for less than 10 minutes —no swabs, no testing—yet diagnosed our 2 year old toddler with “tonsillitis, possibly Strep A” and prescribed antibiotics on the spot. The most recent visit they gave a 7-day course of azithromycin, which is well beyond the recommended duration. We've confirmed this with multiple paediatricians, who have shown me that the guideline is a 3-day course, max 5 days. This is reckless. Misuse of antibiotics in children is not just lazy, it’s harmful, and doing it without any swabs or test (despite me asking if they can do some swabs) is just beyond medical professionalism. If you want thoughtful, evidence-based care, stay far away. This is not a real medical practice—just a prescription mill. The only upside is that the non-doctor staff are all very pleasant and kind, and they always have appointments available.

   We have used the Portland's Urgent Care Centre for both our children many, many times since it first opened 7 years ago - it is our 'go to' whenever we need quick and urgent GP care out of hours, and we have got to know many of the clinicians. Particular shout out to Dr Heather and Dr Ali, whom we have seen many times and who are excellent. Always diligent but also measured in their approach, never look to 'over medicalise'. Amazing nurses too. Shohida, the UCC deputy sister, is like family now - the kids (and Mum) love her. Other wonderful nurses who have treated the children include Evie, Debbie, Joi-Anne, Katie and Olivia. A couple of occasions when things have not gone smoothly, but the team at the highest levels has always been transparent and quick to resolve. Highly trusted and recommended.

   We visited this urgent care for my child, and I couldn’t be more grateful for the care we received. The nurse Gabrielle was incredibly kind, patient, and efficient. They made my child feel at ease right away and explained everything clearly. We were seen quickly, and the treatment was both professional and compassionate. Thank you for being there when we needed help the most!

   My son recently had an operation at the Portland Hospital, and I can confidently say it deserves a full 5-star rating! The facility is incredibly high-tech and truly impressive, providing a modern and comfortable environment for patients. What stood out the most was the exceptional staff. They are brilliant, supportive, and always willing to help, making the experience even more enjoyable. While the costs can be on the pricier side, I believe it's worth every penny for the level of care and attention received. A special shoutout to Mr. Chris Pepper and his team, who were absolutely amazing. They went above and beyond our expectations, ensuring that we felt comfortable and well-cared for throughout our visit. Overall, we are extremely satisfied with our experience at the Portland Hospital and highly recommend it to anyone seeking top-notch medical care!

   We’ve brought both of our boys here several times in the last year and I can say with certainty that service is hit or miss. As other reviewers have mentioned they won’t see your child for anything more than a cold. And if you happen to be allowed an appointment, rarely will your child be seen by a competent paediatrician. The possibility is there which is what keeps us coming back plus our US insurance covers the cost. Today I called to make an appointment and the person over the phone was so cryptic about the availability and she made it seem as though she was doing me a favour by even giving us an appointment. Such an odd interaction but not surprising. Last I checked we, the parents, are the ones paying for this service so perhaps the employees can learn to at least be professional as I know competency is too big of an ask.

   This review ONLY applies to the Children’s UCC. Our child was born in The Portland and we were extremely happy with the care. We’re also frequent users of the adult UCC in the Wellington (same group) and pretty happy with the service. The Children’s UCC however is frankly pretty useless. Have to make an appointment (for “urgent” care…), they don’t have appointments available if you call after 1pm, don’t take appointments for the next day, and don’t really take any condition that seems to be more complicated than the common cold. Why this place exists, nobody knows.

   The staff was very nice at this place. They went out of their way to get our sick child in for an appointment. We were visiting London and very unsure where to go. This turned out to be the right place. The admin, nurse, and doctor were all caring and professional.

   Been here twice now and it was worth every penny, no need to wait in a long queue. Facilities are clean and the doctors are quick and efficient. You get a follow up phone call the next day to make sure your child is ok. I would 100% recommend coming here if your child is unwell.
