   Garage i run service department for carries a lot of sub con work with John and his garage, cracking work everytime, no faults at anytime. Highly recommended, professional service and efficient. Keep it going John... EDIT; Took my own car to John, expected good service due to rapport built up but the incompetencies shown were astouding. Turned the engine without the cambelt fitted, luckily no lasting damage. Couldn't remove a crank pulley in 6 months but took another garage 1 week. Paid for parts fitted that should have been fitted after the repair for a crankshaft seal was carried out but did before because it saved time and then couldn't complete the original repair. Also paid for an incorrect diagnosis of replacement of the crankshaft seal and 4.5 hours labour attempt at replacing when the real reason my car was pissing oil out was a cracked oil pump, causing the seal to blow. Then had terrible customer service when paying and collecting the car due to disputes about what he had and had not done. Attemted to charge for storage of 8 or so days, even though the car had been there 6 month still unrepaired! I said don't rush, i won't be a complaining customer but 6 months to replace a crankshaft seal and it not even get done is beyond reasonable. Likeable guy, but wouldn't go back due to the horrendous experience. Also stated he didn't want me back, not the best customer service i've recieved even though several posters claim to 'achieve excellence' in that respect. Should stick to MOT's, Services, brake changes etc.

   I've ordered tyres with fitting and alingment through Asda. Lef my car with them 9:30 came back after 4pm and tyres were fitted but no wheel alignment been done! They had all day to do it. Next day I said: If something is wrong with the wheel position ring me first as i hit the curb and its possible that wheel tracking is wrong. They did wheel alignment as normal but wheel had wrong tracking, visibly in angle. Wont go there again, very unprofessional letting me go like this on the road. I checked wheel with other garage, shock absorber bent. Came back for refund and was told to get through Asda. It's only £30 but it looks like they dont care about customers safety. Beware!!!

   Booked my Toyota Yaris in for service & MOT using the online system which was very straightforward & informative on the pricing & details of the various service levels available. My vehicle initially failed the MOT due to a broken coil spring. I was contacted & made aware of the price to obtain & fit the part. All work - service, MOT, repairs & re-test was carried out on the same day & I was able to collect my vehicle after work. Great service & priced exactly as quoted.

   Unfortunately I came across this garage. Has got to be without a doubt the worst garage ever. Unhelpful, absolutely NO communication. Had my car 2 weeks before they even looked at it. Another week to try and do a diagnostic with NO results other than a guessing game. Quoted my £900 +vat for a part that costs £85 online and it turns out that wasn't even the issue. Went and got my car from garage after closing hours with my spare key (had enough by then). As far as they were aware the car was gone,or stolen. didn't call to tell me . I called them a day later to ask about my car, the were speechless. Waste of time, effort, money and 3 weeks without a car.

People who go out of their way to help you.This is a brilliant safe garage to take your vehicle too. Fair, honest as the day is long.    My daughter was quoted £800 to get MOT repairs carried out by Halfords, JR Motor Services did the same work for just over £100. Helpful, quick and very reasonable, would really recommend for an honest garage in the York area.

   Robbed. Charged over £200 for a repair that never happened!! My car stuttered and stopped, I got it towed and decided to take it to this garage. They claimed it needed a new fuel pump, gave me the car back, a day or so later the same thing happens again. Another tow to the garage, they messed around with it, gave me it back. A few days later the same thing happened again. I took it back again, this time they told me it needed something else entirely. I asked for them to replace this without charge as they had supposedly fixed it in the first place. They flat out refused and I refused to pay them anymore money. They didn't fix my car, they charged me £200 for a part it didn't even need. In the end someone I knew fixed it, it just needed the filters clearing! They either don't know what they are doing or are ripping people off! Avoid!
