Nothing 5 star about this hotel. This was the dirtiest hotel I have ever stayed in and I have traveled in low cost hotels across south east Asia. I visited April 2025 but did not originally post my review as I gave the hotel a chance to put this experience right but it was not - another failure to meet 5 star expectations. My biggest complaint was the faeces in the toilet when I first entered the room, this then took over an hour, and 3 reminders to put right. We were moved to an β€œupgraded” room but the cleanliness was lacking again.

From check in our experience was nothing short of outstanding. Our room was lovely and the fact that I could bring my 18yr old dog along made the whole experience even better (although she slept through most of it) Dog beds and bowls are provided too, so no dragging along the extras. The staff were really pleasant, greeting as they passed by. It’s a little odd on arrival as you have to wait to be greeted downstairs first before checking in on the 6th floor. More help with luggage would be appreciated but not essential. Overall, loved it room 413

I stayed at Hotel Gotham for my birthday and had such a wonderful experience. Check-in was incredibly smooth and I was really impressed with how welcoming the team were. A special thank you to Spike, who was absolutely fantastic throughout our stay β€” so helpful, pleasant, and went out of his way to make everything feel that bit more special. He even arranged a few little extras for us, which made the experience even more memorable. And a huge thank you to Bilal for the lovely surprise waiting in our room β€” the chocolates and Prosecco were such a thoughtful touch and truly made my birthday feel celebrated. We had a brilliant stay and would definitely return. Highly recommend!

I love this hotel β€” it's always an experience to stay there! I love the gothic aesthetic, the design of the rooms, and the creative attention to detail in every corner. The atmosphere feels both luxurious and mysterious, and the staff are always welcoming and professional. Every stay feels unique β€” it’s the perfect blend of comfort, character, and charm. The breakfast in bed was a whole new experience β€” beautifully presented, delicious, and thoughtfully arranged. From the perfectly brewed coffee to the warm pastries and fresh fruit, everything felt indulgent and elegant. It made the morning feel extra special, like a scene from a classic film. bssss, Batman was there !!

A good hotel to stay at in Manchester. Nice decor but slightly dated overall including the TVs. Good location. The mini bar should have a bit more items to offer and for the price they should definitely have more still water in the room. All the areas could use a bit more dusting given the dark decor. Staff are friendly but reception area needs an upgrade for sure as the back office is visible to the customers and it’s not a good view to say the least.

Went for afternoon tea on a Sunday, it was quite busy but never rushed. Honey Restaurant had a relaxed ambience and we got a lovely window seat. The food was great. (Nicer food and a much more pleasant atmosphere than the Midland!)

Made to feel very welcome from the moment we entered the hotel. (Lovely decor). We had an afternoon tea booked but we arrived early, the staff offered us coffee/tea (even a cucumber flavoured water) then showed us to the outdoor terrace or indoor area to wait. Nothing was too much trouble, all members of staff were so pleasant and made us feel very relaxed. The outdoor terraces are stunning, the afternoon tea was absolutely gorgeous. The only negative, for a five star hotel, I wouldn’t expect chipped cups (I didn’t complain though as everything else was perfect). Next time maybe a stay over as a treat!

We had a wonderful Champagne Afternoon tea. The food was delicious, one if the best afternoon teas I have ever had. The staff were attentive but Nora stood out. She was amazing and made us both feel very special, and Maurice was lovely. They both made a fuss of us, which we loved. I can't wait to return.

Afternoon tea was lovely here, the service was great! Drinks served very quickly and the gin was very aesthetic. Window seat was a treat and background piano music a nice touch. Let down slightly by both our cups being chipped and replacements being cracked and dirty, also would be nice to offer/ ask if happy with the sandwiches before bringing the set. Overall nice, definitely worth using a voucher.

We were lucky enough to stay one night here in the inner sanctum suite- it is incredible! The tv screens with live views of Manchester was an extra bonus! The bed and sofa were both incredibly comfy and the shower was amazing. We decided to eat in the restaurant and had a wonderful meal looking out over the sunset across Manchester and it was stunning the food was fab and the service was brilliant. And because we could we then went up to brass for a cocktail what a cool little bar the service again was wonderful every little detail was perfect even bringing water over whilst we decided on our order. I would absolutely stay again and if you get the chance go you won’t regret it!
