   We stayed at Hollin House for one night and had originally booked a superior twin room. Because we had a dog, we were downgraded to a standard room, but there was no refund or adjustment to the room rate, which was disappointing. The room itself was quite small and not very clean. There were dirty splash marks on the wall, and the bathroom shelf was broken so we had nowhere to put our wash bags. There was also no wardrobe. I took photos of the cleanliness issues as they were noticeable. The hotel is more dog tolerant than truly dog friendly. The staff loved dogs though and gave ours plenty of treats, which was really lovely. We could hear noise from the Garden Room at night, as well as noise from the room above because the ceilings are quite thin. We went to speak to staff about the noise, and they already knew about the party and were aware it could be heard. Thankfully it went quiet after about 11.30 pm. Check in was easy and straightforward, though our key card stopped working at 10 am even though checkout is 11 am. A lovely cleaner let us back into the room. On the positive side, all the staff, including reception, bar, restaurant, kitchen, housekeeping and night staff, were genuinely friendly, welcoming and very sweet with our dog. Dinner and breakfast were delicious and served well. The hotel itself is decorated beautifully for Christmas, and the main foyer and staircase are gorgeous. The building is lovely overall, and the location is absolutely beautiful. In short, the hotel has a lot of charm and the staff are wonderful, but the room downgrade, cleanliness, noise and checkout key card issue let the stay down a little. With a few improvements, it would be a lovely place to stay again.

   Can't fault it for what you pay. We paid £66 per double room and booked 2. My wife, children and I had an overnight stay and thoroughly enjoyed it. Staff where lovely, restaurant area was really nice, building itself from the outside is nice. Yes some bits are maybe a bit dated but what are you expecting for £66 a room.

   Just returned from 2 nights dinner, bed & breakfast at Hollins House Hotel. 1 night was also inclusive of a free bottle Prosecco which we shared over dinner. Review based on our accommodation in Room 1 ( Brook Suite), Hospitality from all staff we engaged with, the quality of the food and overall experience of HHH. Arrived for checkin ( which is from 1500 hrs). Warm greeting from staff member at reception. Informed we had been upgraded to Brook Suite which is in the original part of the hotel at the top of the grand staircase. On entering we were greeted with a very large room indeed. Super king-size bed, 4 poster, lovely view from the vast bay window overlooking the front of the hotel and sprawling countryside. The bathroom is I would describe as a wetroom room with a large shower are in one section, a very large bath in the opposite corner and plenty of floor space to navigate the rest of the room. Lovely soft waffle bathrobes adorned our bed on entering. Tea & coffee station, a working desk with chair, a good sized dressing table, 2 seater sofa, large flat screen TV, with a small fridge inside the TV stand. Our dining experiences, we had dinner on both nights. Both nights we were looked after extremely well by Sophie who works extremely hard to accommodate guests requests. We were all feeling the cold snap up and down the country. This made it difficult for the restaurant to get the heat up. Some guests were clearly upset and feeling the chill, but it wasn't too bad. Food choice is plentiful, something for everyone I would think. We opted for the house burger & beef bourguignon followed by a cheese & crackers to share on our first night, along with our complimentary Prossecco.On night 2 we both choose the fish & chips plus cheese and crackers to share. Breakfasts are good , hot & cold buffet. Buffet service on 30 covers or more, which is fine. Plenty of choice, nice and warm. They have scrambled eggs on the buffet, but if you ask you can have poached or fried eggs. Overall, we cannot fault any part of our visit to HHH. The hotel is set in a lovely part of Cheshire not far from Macclesfield and surrounding towns. Well worth a visit. Thanks to all the staff at HHH for making our visit memorable for all the right reasons and working so hard. We will return

   My wife & I spent an overnight stay on 21st November at Hollins House using the Black Friday deal of B&B + bottle Prosecco. All sounded good. We went out for our evening meal but came back to the hotel & enjoyed the atmosphere in the bar area with a drink before going to bed which is the largest one I have ever slept in & it was very comfortable. Our issues came at breakfast time with so many things wrong. 1.The water for hot drinks was a dirty brown colour - my wife only has hot water for her drink, hence noticing this. Mention it & it was replaced with fresh, hot water. 2. The taste of the pre-made coffee was very poor & only luke warm. 3. The plates for the cooked breakfast were cold despite a sign saying warm plates. 4. The container housing the bacon & sausage was cold & the food was also cold - tried it but left these items. Mentioned this to a waitress but no apologies for this. I had the beans & mushrooms which were OK. I have tried on 4 occasions to get through to the hotel but always no one there & the call ended after about 2 minutes. I couldn't send an email as addresses shown were incorrect. I wanted to talk to someone about our experience but unable, hence putting in this review. I realise that we didn't pay a great amount of money for this night away but I feel the experience was spoilt by things well within the control of the hotel staff. So really disappointed in our overall time at Hollin House.

   Visited Macclesfield and stayed here. Great location with parking available. It did get packed in the evening but there is more parking. Initial check in was great. Room was a good size, bathroom modern, bed was huge. Lift wasn't working but didn't bother us. Had afternoon tea and cake, waitress was especially nice. Close drive to town and good value for money.

   We just had a 3 day , 2 night family gathering here for 12 people and 4 dogs. We received exceptional treatment, nothing was too much trouble. We all had afternoon teas which were absolutely amazing, and we had lovely evening meals too. The rooms were all lovely and clean, and the hotel had a really nice atmosphere. The staff (in particular Sean & Loraine.) Have wonderful customer service skills, and make you feel very special. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hotel, its A true hidden gem.

   We had a lovely stay here. The restaurant area is nice and well decorated, evening food was good and the staff were lovely. The rooms were clean if a bit worn, and we had a great nights sleep. Breakfast was included, but the only average part of our stay. All in all we had a good experience.

   Hotel is stunning! Staff friendly! Didn’t have any food so can’t comment. Room was fine, we had a superior double - it was a good size, not massive. Bathroom was lovely. Amazing location will definitely be back.

   Staff are wonderful and very friendly. The rooms are OK, clean and tidy. The hotel has some lovely vintage features and the history of it is fascinating. The layout is a bit of rabbit Warren but I suspect this is due to the old meets new areas in the construction. The breakfast was substandard. They had breakfast bacon in the same pot as the mushrooms next to one another, as a vegetarian this was disturbing. No bread for toast and this was at 8am. Disappointing. Other than this is was an OK stay.
