Sunday 2/1/26 - Greeted by an extremely rude young girl at the bar, barely managed to get our request out when she barked at us that she would not be putting the chef under pressure by accommodating our request for a table for 2 for a snack. No apology given, won't be going again, and, will be cancelling my group booking for my Mum & Dad's 50th wedding anniversary. If you can't manage front of house then maybe you should stay in the kitchen washing up!

We went on Christmas Day having dined and had the best time the year before. Unfortunately this time was awful, it completely ruined our Christmas. From start to finish… the room was filthy, the paint is peeling off the walls, the food was revolting, the service was awful (though no fault of the waitress she was very busy on her own and seemed embarrassed) as the food all came out wrong and at different times with missing items. My food was burnt and cold and the dessert was worse than a school chocolate pudding (it was meant to be a brownie) my sister had a mince pie Eton mess and it was a meringue with a mine pie placed on top in a cereal bowl. We couldn’t wait to leave!! Baring in mind it cost £110 per person for this meal and we trusted them with our Christmas Day- which is super upsetting. I have sent 2 emails and have yet to have a reply. I would absolutely NOT recommend the bridge to anyone! It was disgraceful I still feel sick thinking about it.

We’ve just come home from our stay We stayed in room 5, personally for the £200 we spent on the room I do not think it was a good value for money. The chain / box whenever it was flushed or we used the shower or taps was extremely loud and ongoing for ages. The room was small with a tiny en suite. The advert on booking.com shown a gorgeous room with bath tub etc which was not at all what we received and was classed as the “finest room”. When we arrived there was nobody to greet us at reception and when somebody finally did we were told we had to wait 2 hours for our room to be ready. It seems very understaffed and I couldn’t point out one staff member who was remotely friendly. The meals we had in both the evening and morning was below average. We were directly above the stairs in which there was a massive crowd of people sat downstairs shouting and screaming which kept us awake and this is not what I would have expected. We stayed for Valentine’s Day earlier in the year in a more basic room in the other part of the building and personally we think this was better. It had better views, more space and overall a nicer room with bathtub & would have cost us less money. We have stayed here for our anniversary as we were really impressed the last time we came and to say we are disappointed is a massive understatement.

Food was amazing..in arrival we were give. A standard double ..dresser all scratched and room was not worth £170 Manage did however move us to a suitable room but feel the whole hotel needs a revamp for the price per night they are asking ..I have a dust allergy ,on first inspection it was lovely and clean only to be woken at 2am wheezing feeling unwell my allergy had kicked in ..my husband pulled the two single beds apart which had made a double bed where it was inch deep in dust 2 takeaway trays also under there ..I have emailed management but had no further reply ... restaurant food was beautiful but as regards a stay for the price they are asking would look eles where

We were really looking forward to our stay here but were left a little disappointed. The interior throughout looked very tired and unloved, paint scraped off the walls, black mould in the bathroom and bedroom, even the toilet seat lid came off in my hand. The TV in the room was barely audible, we couldn't turn it up so we gave up. However the dining area was pretty. I loved that they provided a dog bed and bowls in the room and the young staff were so lovely especially the waitress at breakfast, in fact it was the staff that saved the stay so thank you to them!

I've been to The Bridge a number of times for food, and unfortunately, my last visit was quite disappointing. There was an initial problem with our booking, and they stated that we didn't pay a booking fee, but we had no record they had requested one, even though they had all our details on file. But fair enough, maybe we did miss it, what was frustrating was the lack of help they offered to resolve the problem, and just kept repeating, "Do you have a booking?". It wasn't until we just asked if you could fit us in, and in fact, they could, so it was all for nothing really, and I don't really understand the animosity towards us. 6 of us had Roast Beef, and all of them (bar one) were overcooked and quite fatty, and usually, the quality is really good. The Califlower Cheese was also quite cold (apart from the top), which made me think it was just under a heat lamp. After our meal we wanted to have a drink in the lounge area, as we were celebrating a birthday. We went to the bar to get served, and they said they would come over to take our order, we then waited 20 minutes for our order to be taken. A further 30 minutes passed, and our drinks were nowhere to be seen, until the waiter who took our order said they forgot to put it through! We waited a further 15 minutes, as we assumed we must be next! Unfortunately not, still no drinks, and our order was only 2 beers and 3 glasses of wine, no cocktails or coffees.... So we decided to leave, and we received no apology on the way out, or even an attempt to get us to stay and ensure that our drinks are on their way. Overall, it was very disappointing.

Had a wonderful night at the bridge. Staff couldn't be nicer, even had one member of staff stop us as she was on her way home to give our dog some treats. Room was fabulous, pictures on Internet didn't do it justice. As for the restaurant well, the food was amazing. We had dinner and breakfast there and I can honestly say I've never had a better breakfast, out of the ordinary and very delicious. I recommend go there just to stop at the bridge alone.

We booked a reservation for the Sunday lunch and needless to say the food was amazing, tasty and seasonal veg crunchy. Stayed overnight in one of the corner rooms, which was nice and clean. Staff couldn't do enough for us and were very friendly, cocktails were excellent. Thank you.

Lovely rooms; they're a decent size and it was clean and comfortable. Friendly staff. I had a good night's sleep and I enjoyed my stay. Would definitely recommend and I would certainly stay again. The breakfast was lovely too.
