   We stayed in a family room on the top floor. The room was clean & spacious & good amenities. It is an old building, not fancy & steep staircases but if you are ok with this then it's a great place to stay. All the staff in the hotel & down in the pub are brilliant, very welcoming & accommodating & they obviously get on well. Our breakfast was included as we booked direct & we got 20% off food & drinks at other times. The food was very nice & large portions. Excellent location especially if you're at an event at the AO Arena.

   Had a pretty good experience. Very close to the center of town, cozy room, and kind staff. The only unfortunate thing is that the water pressure in the bathroom is pretty low- that the flushing the toilet, and having a decent shower was a bit difficult (it was just a trickle!). Given the situation of the building it could not be helped- but if planning to stay here I would keep it in mind. Shower somewhere else in advance.

   The bed for a single person is too small . The quilt also barely covers the small bed. The radiators only run for approx 4 hours A day . Which is not enough in December It was so cold in the room I could see my breath. The water pressure on showers needs improving. The room was clean and stylish .but a warm room was my expectation and I was disappointed.

   I got the executive room, very nice setting, comfy bed. I am not fan of getting hotels above pubs, but this one was charming and good location. From the room you could hear a lot of noises from the street and stairs but they left ear plugs and thank you for that!!

   Fab hotel I had room 30 on the 3rd floor.This 200 year old building has narrow high staircases so if you cant do stairs its not for you but I was up for the challenge!.I was in a cosy single room with options of a fan or plug in heater the room was clean and cosy.Mini tea/coffee station an iron/board and hangers to put my clothes. A lovley throw and pillow on the bed and a tv .I was at a show at the coop arena (Mcfly vs Busted) and unfortunatly when I got back I was going to have a bath but there was no plug in the bath.The lovley syaff at reception hunted but couldnt retrieve one my only gripe. so I had a shower.My bed was cosy and my room was lovley thank you for the wonderfull stay! Its right next to the Arndale and tram spot and 15 mins away from the train station.I will deffinatly stay again!

   Location and staff are fantastic, particularly Kristen? On reception. It's let down a little by incredibly loud plumbing and thin walls which meant I could hear every toilet flush, shower and conversation in the place. Rooms could do with a little more furniture but adequate for one night. I would stay again, just with ear plugs.

   My husband and I came here for breakfast as it was near our hotel and it looked inviting from outside. The building outside is stunning. A beautifully historic piece of English history. The interior is modern, clean and comfy. The lady serving us was polite and friendly. The food was excellent. A good English breakfast and smashed avocado and egg between us both was very well received.

   2 night stay. Let’s start with the positives - great, historic central location next to the Cathedral. The room was clean and the bed good. The negatives - there was no furniture in the room - no wardrobe or chest of drawers so we had to place our clothes / stuff on the floor. Unless you count the two hangers on the back of the door. The bathroom was vast but empty. The shower was like the ones at a leisure centre - push button to make it work for 30 seconds at a time - weak flow and no temperature controls! The website is v smart but nothing like the reality of the bedroom we stayed in.

   The rooms were freshly painted but defo not the Ritz! Clean and tidy lovely staff. There was flaking paint, the finish is not great but central, clean and offers 20% off on food and drink when you show your room key downstairs in the bar! Over all a good shout if you want central and easy from the station with free city bus.

   The woman at the desk and the staff downstairs were great I loved the food and the discount! I can't fault the bed it was comfy enough for me, and I loved the location although the room is small it does what we needed it too! My concerns however on arrival were a few holes in the wall and door, the bathroom toilet was so small we could barely fit in, also the noise it makes whenever you use it is Insane I got woken up a a few times and anyone who uses there's across the hall not great
