The lady who is on this evening is amn absolute credit to the company! Polite, helpfull, genuinely a lady who cares about the company and just an all out pleasure to deal with! This girl needs a raise for her customer service! The most helpful receptionist I've ever had the pleasure of dealing with! Also the rooms are immaculate and the vibe in general is very laid back... I would highly recommend!

Was here for a visit the week before last to see the city and visit family before Christmas to find out it was over booked although I had booked and and paid prior. The receptionist tried to help us as much as possible but there was no manager at night to help and they seemed a bit lost something that continued throughout my whole stay…. When we did see who seemed to be the Manager/ higher up or owner they were always there in the day and never seemed to be doing anything other than being on laptops, whilst the rest off the staff done all the work. The manner in which they speak to staff and fellow guests is disgusting the Spanish girl is very rude and condescending whilst the Gentleman seems very angry and very low intelligence with the way he speaks to his staff… not to say the fact customers who are bilingual can hear them bad mouth their hard working staff in Spanish as if no one else speak the language (felt very sorry for the staff who were working) Accommodation was super loud as it was right above two noisy late night bars which is never mentioned on Booking.com and the rooms were the furthest thing from noise proof even to the point you can hear everything from the room next door and outside. Mattresses were super uncomfortable and you could feel each individual spring leading to a terrible night sleep. The Room was incredibly warm, there was no thermostat to control this and you can’t open the windows because then all the noise from the street floods in. I was provided with a fan but this didn’t help as there was no cool air so it just ended up blowing warm air around the room. (Don’t think the staff quite understand how a fan works but t doesn’t create cold air it just circulates the air and needs a cool source to push cool air) Shared common area wasn’t too bad but the kitchen is dirty and smelled really bad, constantly smelled like someone was cooking fish or curry. There is shared bathrooms on both the first and second floor, both were covered in mould and the floors were soaking wet which doesn’t help with mould… you have to rent the towels and return them with no money returned which is absolutely mental I have never stayed anywhere where you have to rent and return towels there usually sold or provided. Night staff seem disengaged and emotionless which i can understand as you don’t see them take breaks and seeing how the day runs you can’t help but feel bad for them. All in all the only positive aspect is the bar and the surrounding area, close to live music venues, really convenient for travel, being close to the Christmas markets and both of the football grounds for the big football teams are a short travel. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone for the price you pay you might as well book at 4* hotel as you’ll spend the same amount but get better service.

I stayed here for 1 night in June of this year. I chose it because it was fairly central and easy to travel to/from the Co-Op Live venue, and also because it suited my super low budget. Pros: Great location/close proximity to town, especially for someone that's new to Manchester. It's also a walkable distance to/from the main train station. Cons: The bathrooms are a bit old and nitty gritty, so the drainage in the shower wasn't great. Most of the floor on one side of the bathroom/around the shower drain was noticeably dirty/sticky on account of a regular build up of slow draining shower water. Not great in a shared dorm with lost of people using the same shower! Also, just a heads up, the hostel is located right on what can be quite a busy (and loud) street for nightlife, so earplugs are a good idea if you're a light sleeper. Also, another heads up, the door at the main entrance is weirdly hard to open. I saw several guest struggling to push it in while I was there. Overall, a pretty decent hostel for the price (minus the drainage issues) and perfectly fine for 1 night on a budget. I would have absolutely no problem staying here again.

This felt like a fancy hostel. Beds didn't creak much when someone moved and you get plenty of privacy. There's also lots of storage and space for your luggage. The bathrooms are tidy, clean and spacious enough. The only downside was that you can feel the springs through the mattress. I was only staying for one night so it wasn't too bad but might be uncomfortable if you are staying for longer.

Very good hostel with friendly and helpful staff. The place was clean and comfortable overall. Breakfast was included, which was a big plus – no need to rush anywhere in the morning. I stayed in a 4-bed room, and all the necessary facilities were inside. There is a small locker next to the bed, but you need to have your own padlock. The staff were always responsive and welcoming. There is also a fridge where you can store your own food. The only downside was that the mattresses were not very comfortable. Overall, a pleasant stay!

While booking it was shown as double bed but allotted the sharing room. The experience with front office is pathetic. I don't know about the day but night staff horrible. Not upto the expectations. It could be okay if someone want to just stay for few hours and move on. Don't get excited with the fake reviews.

I really enjoyed my stay, I couldnt get picture ID but she was more than helpful & friendly. I tell you now the lady at the front desk was very lovely. I give a 4 star on the room, not because of how it looked because everything was perfectly presented but you will not get any sleep in that room anyway with the old windows. If it isnt people screaming outside it's the vents going off 24 7 and the windows are very old probably older than me. Not double glazed. Also I understand that you cant catch everything but if someone smashes glass in the room in future it's best to go over with a brush then a hoover. I cut myself on a tiny bit of shard of glass that was on the hotel room floor. It was very tiny and didnt cut much but because I really enjoyed my stay I didnt want to complain at all. The staff there are so friendly like extremely and made us feel extremely welcome. 10/10 recommend, I would definitely stay again regardless the glass situation because of how nice everyone was there. Even people next door at the cafe was extremely friendly.

Stayed in a private room and was very disappointing. The room in the third floor (elevator was not working but happens in hostels) felt like an earthquake every time somebody walked in the hall and the heater was standard (could not adjust). The restaurant next door is terrible service that is very odd for the Selina hospitality brand. I must say that despite this, the front desk people were very kind and that is the only good that kept me from having a lower rating honestly.

Check-in was easy, really kind stuff. Room is really small, no windows to open. Has a fan in the room, which has almost no effect on the really high temperatures in the room and is extremely loud. Hostel is right in the mittle of a lot of bars and clubs, which makes it almost impossible to sleep. Bathrooms are almost always dirty and do not get cleaned often. Often no toiletpaper. Biggest pro is that you get a free welcome drink and that‘s about it. Would not recommend this place in summer or high season.

If I could give this place 0 stars i would. I wouldn’t recommend at all. Our room was like a sauna, we have a fan in our room which we had on our whole stay, we also had our window open constantly but nothing made our room cooler. Electric sockets our dodgy and not fitted properly. When showering the water will go from warm to cold so you cannot enjoy your shower. No storage to put clothes. There is a green emergency light in every room, which when you’re trying to go to sleep is really irritating and bright. When asked for an extra fan downstairs the lady at reception said she would get us another one however she never did and never told us. We asked again at around 8pm, the lady at reception advised us that she would have a look and if not she’d give us a refund for one nights stay…however an hour passed and we went downstairs to check what was happening and she had left, meaning we had another boiling night. The next morning we complained to the manager who told us we’d get a free meal next door…however when we came down to get our free meal as told, we were told that the kitchen had closed…so their solution to the first problem was then followed by another problem. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anybody! waste of money and terrible staff who didn’t help at all! Save your money and go elsewhere. The only positive thing I have to say about this place is the location is perfect…however it is next to multiple bars so it’s loud in the evenings when trying to sleep. 0 STARS!! worst experience, terrible management.
