The room had a slight funky smell and the door had gaps so you can hear the noise from the corridor. There wasn't a plug next to the bedside so you have to charge your phone on the dresser. It's awkward for your alarm clock. Staff were great. Breakfast was minimal.

We had such a wonderful stay here with our son on Wednesday, 25th September. Since he wasn’t able to join his school trip to Paris, we decided to treat him to a night away and it couldn’t have been more perfect. The staff went above and beyond, even surprising him with a teddy made from a blanket and a handwritten card, which meant the world to him (and to us!). The pool was fantastic, the bar was excellent, and the entire team made us feel truly welcomed from start to finish. Thank you so much for creating such a special experience you really made his week!

Great staff and great service. Love been greeting by Rosie the dog. Made my day. Especially after having breast cancer treatment. The pool and gym next door has great facilities. Back in November.

What a nice hotel. Met by friendly staff at the reception, very welcoming and helpful. Our room was clean, tidy and fresh. The breakfast provided was lovely. Would definitely recommend to anyone staying over in Manchester for the evening.

Lovely, very clean hotel. Perfect location- only 10 min walk into town. Lots to do and see. We have never been to Manchester and the lady at reception- Shelly was super super helpful! She told us all the best places to go and really want to thank her (hope she sees this) plus she was so lovely and friendly! Overall a great trip and will def be returning to stay

The few days stay in this hotel was very poor. The receptionist was rude upon entry, telling us our room wasn’t ready until 3pm until a sentence later telling us if we pay £20 it will be ready now. Our room was nice but our TV and hairdryer didn’t work and out shower needed to be repaired to use it. The breakfast the next morning was awful and bone cold. Servers didn’t restock food or drink. Our room wasn’t cleaned and we had to ask multiple times for it to be cleaned and the receptionist was appealing in helping and told us it wasn’t ‘his problem’ and said we should’ve requested a clean room! The walls are paper thin and you can hear doors slamming all night. A nice room when clean in a lovely part of Manchester but nothing else good to say about it

Ideally situated for a walk into centre, but far enough away to not hear the crowd!! A lovely hotel, excellent facilities and a great breakfast. Our room was fine but we have stayed in nicer rooms in this hotel! Can thoroughly recommend.

I really enjoyed my stay at The Castlefield Hotel, particularly because of the gym and swimming facilities that we could use that were included in the price of the room. I stayed for three nights and it was in a great location for walking to local tram stops and shopping at Arndale. The room was clean, quiet, comfortable. Fantastic amenities in the room like soap and body wash provided by fixed dispensers, a fold-out ironing board and iron, a great quality TV, brilliant hospitality tray with biscuits, coffee, tea and milk sachets. Some extras were missing though, like a bathroom bin, the door wouldn't lock on the room but to me, it didn't matter because the door locks itself anyway and can only be opened with the keycard. The room didn't have any heating or air conditioning controls so it was a bit cold at times but didn't affect me. No plug sockets by the bed. The corners of the bathroom could have been cleaner and more attention to detail in there could have helped but was fine overall. The bed was comfortable, towels were plentiful, I didn't have breakfast but I did see it, and it looked okay, with the usual things on offer. The staff were very friendly and helpful, I love that they allow dogs because I love dogs. The best thing about this hotel too, is that they support the YMCA charity so a portion of proceeds from the hotel stay and anything purchased in the bar etc. has a percentage go to charity. The Y Club leisure centre which we have access to as much as we like during our stay was very clean, had free sanitary products, great facilities, lovely pool, friendly staff and I loved it. I would return to The Castlefield Hotel but I would take an extension lead to have my phone by the bed and warmer pyjamas due to no heating controls.
